All rank restorations and demotions must be approved by a Jedi Councilor; unless it is the disowning of a Padawan, demotion for massive abuse of admin privileges, or other reasons.
All promotion requests for low ranks must have proof attached to them; otherwise they are invalid.
Individuals may request to be demoted to any rank of their choosing.
Staff members who are members of any of the three divisions (Jedi Lorekeepers, Jedi Taskforce, or Jedi Temple Guard) may request a temporary demotion to Jedi Knight to focus on their respective division(s).
These rank-lock periods last 2 months. Upon these 2 months ending, the user will be forced back to their original rank in TJO. You may un-ranklock at any given moment within these 2 months; you do not have to wait until the end. If you are on Inactivity Notice when your 2 months end, you will be un-ranklocked at the end of your notice.
Upon un-ranklocking, staff members will need to complete 2 full quota cycles in TJO before they are permitted to rank-lock again. If you un-ranklock in the middle of quota cycle, that cycle will not count. You must complete a full 2 cycles (or 4 weeks)
Should an individual who ranklocked accumulate three strikes during the ranklock period, when they decide to revert demotion, they will get one rank below their original rank.
Requirements are to be used once at a time for each rank. Individuals cannot use things such as approvals, case-studies, & trainings (both hosts and co-hosts) again for another rank. They have a one-time use. If caught by the host or another member who reviews the events of the trial, it can result in an infraction for both the host and attendee.
Any TJO member who leaves the group / retires (Instructor+) is given 24 hours to rejoin & receive a full rank restoration.
After 24 hours, members will be subjected to a demotion one rank down from their rank prior to leaving.
Any member banned from the TJO Discord server can only rank up as far as Padawan.
If a Jedi Instructor+ were to be banned from the Discord, they would be demoted to Jedi Knight.
Jedi Knights who are discord-banned are not permitted to take on Padawans.
The highest rank an alternate account can be is Jedi Knight.
A main account cannot take its own alternate account as their padawan.
Members who are Jedi Instructor+ may not host their own alternate account's or their own padawans trial.
Utilization of an alternate account to break rules (in the Discord server or in-game) will result in punishment for both the alternate and main accounts.
As of MAY 2021, EMERGENCY RETIREMENTS are NO LONGER IN EFFECT; any individual who uses an emergency retirement cannot receive their former rank upon unretirement. If you are looking to go absent for a long duration, make an inactivity notice from now on.
Retiring in TJO means retiring altogether (includes divisions); in divisions, if not at a rank able to retire, you are subject to being demoted to the lowest rank in said division.
Individuals who retire at the ranks of Jedi Instructor - Jedi Master will be given the Jedi Elder role & be ranked Jedi Elder in the group.
Only Jedi Instructors+ may be eligible to retire.
Individuals who do not retire properly (posting a retirement message) will be ranked Knight if they wish to return.
If a retiring member wishes not to make a speech, they can contact a Jedi Councilor to announce their retirement.
Upon unretirement, individuals will be given the rank below the rank they initially retired as.
Upon retirement, retired members are allowed 24 hours to unretire & receive their rank prior to retiring.
After 24 hours pass, the retired member unretiring will receive the rank below their rank prior to retiring.
When you retire, all trainings you hosted/co-hosted, supervised, Padawans taken, etc. are considered null and void if you unretire and attempt to use them for rank up requirements again.
Example: I retired as a JM, then unretired and became a JI. To achieve JM again, I may not use old trainings and supervisions to achieve JM.
If you unretire before 24 hours pass, you can continue to use your currently acquired requirements.
Retired Jedi Councilors get ranked Jedi Spirit. If a councilor is inactive when they retire, the JC must decide if they are eligible for Spirit.
For Spirits who unretire to Master, they have a cooldown of a week before they can be on the Jedi Council again unless claused by the Grandmaster.
Jedi Spirits who unretire to Jedi Master are exempt from the Jedi Master trial period and gain moderation permissions upon unretiring.
If a Jedi Spirit retires (as a Jedi Master), they will receive Jedi Spirit back.
If a Jedi Spirit is subject to demotion below Jedi Master for any reasons, the Jedi Council will decide if said Spirit may get Jedi Spirit again.
The rank a Spirit is eligible to unretire to will be taken from their last active rank.
For example, if you are a Jedi Spirit and unretire to the rank of Jedi Master, then retire again as a Master, you’ll still get the Spirit rank but if you unretire again you’ll get Instructor.
