The three most popular Koi breeds are called Gosanke, which are Kohaku, Sanke and Showa. All three breeds have similar patterns and body patterns. There are three main patterns:

Scale Type

มี 3 ประเภทหลักๆ ได้แก่-วากอย เป็นชื่อเรียกปลามีเกล็ด-ดอยท์สึ เป็นชื่อเรียกปลาไม่มีเกล็ด-กินริน เป็นชื่อเรียกปลาเกล็ดสีเงินสะท้อนแสง

There are three main types:

- Wagoi is the name for fish with scales

- Doitsu is the name for fish without scales
- Kinrin is the name for fish with silvery scales that reflect light

Head and Face Patterns

-Maruten has a pattern similar to Tancho with red patterns on the body. It looks like a crown.

-เมนคาบูริ ลวดลายบนหัวนี้เหมือนหน้ากากสีแดง ลวดลายบนหัวควรยาวเลยดวงตาไปเล็กน้อย (โดยไม่สัมผัสดวงตา) และไม่สัมผัสจมูกหรือริมฝีปากโดยไม่ขาดตอน

-Menkaburi: This head pattern is like a red mask. The head pattern should extend slightly beyond the eyes (without touching the eyes) and not touch the nose or lips without interruption.

-Tancho is a very popular pattern, as it represents the Japanese red-crowned crane (which is associated with good fortune and longevity) and is similar to the rising sun symbol on the Japanese flag. Generally, the pattern should be as close to a perfect circle as possible, but over time, some fish have evolved into different shapes, such as hearts and diamonds. Ideally, the tancho pattern should be round, not touch the eyes, not run back into the scales on the back of the head, and be in proportion to the fish's head and body.

-Kushibeni This is another popular pattern. The fish's lips are red and the pattern looks like lipstick.

-โกดั้ง ลายห้าตอน ลักษณะเด่นคือรูปแบบลายบนลำตัวห้าขั้น -GODAN, five-part pattern. The distinctive feature is the five-step pattern
on the body.

-อินาซูมะ ลักษณะเด่นคือรูปแบบลายสีแดงบนลำตัวที่ไม่ขาดตอนลายลากเลื้อยคล้ายกับรูปแบบของสายฟ้า

-INAZUMA The distinctive feature is the uninterrupted red pattern on the body.
The pattern is like a lightning bolt.

-Kanoko refers to a red dot pattern with red in the center of the scales. The dotted effect may be a single red pattern in the center of white scales, but there must be a grouping in close proximity. Most often, this pattern is caused by scales that have lost their red color, which is a genetic regression of older carp. This Kanoko pattern is classified as Kawari-Mono.
