The CETL staff can add the liquid syllabus template to your course in a flash! Simply email cetl@txwes.edu with the course ID number and let us know you'd like to have the liquid syllabus template added. After that, all that's left is it copy/paste previous PDF content into the shell and click Save!Â
The template for the liquid syllabus includes a lot of HTML coding! The only time you have to worry about the base template is when you're first creating your first-ever liquid syllabus! After that, it can be copied between courses.
If you've never created a liquid syllabus before in any course, the best method is to contact the CETL, and we can paste the code for you very quickly!
A brand new course with a new syllabus template may show the shield image as "broken". If that happens, let us know! This is a result of the TXWES shield image being in the HTML code, but Canvas cannot find the image in your course files.
CETL can fix this for you in a jiffy!
What if I had a liquid syllabus in a previous semester, but from a different course?
You can still use it! In this case, complete a course copy and choose the "Select Content" option. When selecting which content you'd like to copy, the only box you'll check will be the "Syllabus" box. This will copy your other course's liquid syllabus to your other current course. Now you can click "Edit" and update the syallbus with the correct course information.
I have the template... now what?
You're ready to start editing! Click the "Edit" button at the top right of your syllabus page. Use the editing area and toolbar to update your information. Don't forget to click "Update Syllabus" at the bottom when you're ready to save your changes.
Wait! I have other questions!
No problem. Check out our Liquid Syllabus FAQs page for more information. Need additional support? Reach out to CETL via Teams or at cetl@txwes.edu.
