Today, April 9th, 2023, at the one-third mark of the year, I was reminded of one important thing: the biggest form of love.
When you love someone, the best thing you can do is be their supporter. When they need support, provide it. When they need companionship, be there for them. When they need advice, offer the best advice that will calm them. When they need help, give them the best help you can. When they need to be believed in, give them validation and reassurance. Be the safest and most comfortable environment when they don't believe in themselves and feel like the world works against them. Assure and strengthen them, and be the place where they can feel great being themselves.
On that note, never expect reciprocity. Instead, understand.
People say that the key to a relationship is communication. However, in my experience, the number one key is understanding. Understand their dreams, what they want, and that they have their preferences for happiness. You must respect their wishes.
Respect is part of sincerity. Respect that they have their way of finding happiness and peace. If leaving you is the best way according to them, then let them. Respect their decision. As mentioned earlier, support their decision. Allow them to find and pursue their dreams. Isn't their happiness yours too?
Let them grow, watch them shine, and be proud when they develop. Take pride in being part of someone's journey. Rejoice when the people you love grow, even though you are no longer there.
Plant them in yourself, pray for their goodness, and pray for their strength. Pray that they always have confidence so the world will never treat them badly. Pray that anyone they meet in the future can support, understand, and respect them, as you do. Pray that they always receive all the goodness the world can offer.
Don't change yourself. Never expect reciprocity from humans. Don't change yourself just because they don't become what you expect them to be. Stay being a human. Keep supporting, understanding, respecting, and praying for their goodness.
As Cinderella once said, "Be kind and let the magic happen."
This bulk of words is applied to everyone, including friends, family, pets, and others.
By the way, a few moments after posting this article, I stumbled upon a TikTok post. I love the idea of it. https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS8tr7AVr/
