Prof. Ross HOUSTON is well known in the aquaculture genetics and animal breeding communities. Before joining Benchmark Genetics, he was Personal Chair of Aquaculture Genetics at the Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh, where he led the aquaculture genetics team. He was also Deputy Director of Translation and Commercialization at the Roslin Institute. He has led several high-profile international aquaculture research projects focusing on the application of genomics and genome editing technologies to improve disease resistance. He has authored and co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and has received several awards for his contributions to the scientific community. As Director of Innovation, Genetics at Benchmark genetics, he leads the strategic development of innovation and R&D at Benchmark genetics to support business growth and ensure the company's competitive advantage. He is also a member of Benchmark's cross-divisional Innovation Board.
