Prof. Anne I. MYHR is highly regarded for her extensive expertise in risk governance concerning genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and her in-depth knowledge of ethical, social, and legal aspects (ELSA) associated with genetic engineering. In recent years, her research has expanded to encompass responsible research and innovation in emerging biotechnologies, including genome editing and synthetic biology. Prof. Myhr's current research focuses on several critical areas, including future food systems, sustainable aquaculture, environmental and biodiversity protection, and the circular economy. She actively conducts studies in the realm of ELSA and responsible research and innovation (RRI) concerning novel technologies. Her dedication to these issues is underscored by her involvement in various important roles, including membership in the Norwegian Biotechnology Advisory Board, The Norwegian National Committees for Research Ethics, and the National Commission for the Investigation of Scientific Misconduct. Internationally, she has contributed significantly to discussions surrounding GMOs, participating in an EU expert working group on GMO monitoring and socio-economic issues under the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety.
