Dr. Lene KLEPPE is widely recognized for her exceptional contributions to the field of reproductive biology and genetics/genomics in farmed fish species, including Atlantic salmon, Atlantic cod, and Atlantic halibut. Her research endeavors encompass a range of critical areas, including the identification, characterization, and functional analysis of candidate genes involved in germ cell formation and survival, as well as the mechanisms underlying puberty in these species. Furthermore, Dr. Kleppe has actively participated in projects aimed at addressing significant challenges within salmon aquaculture. These projects have focused on understanding and developing solutions for issues such as the environmental impact and the welfare of fish. Dr. Kleppe's dedication to advancing our knowledge of reproductive biology and genetics in farmed fish species has made her a prominent figure in the field and has had a significant impact on the sustainable development of aquaculture practices.
