Dear Members of the Section on Teaching and Learning,

This is my last Chair’s Corner. What a year and some change…

I want to recognize some of the work our section members have done over the past year.

Thank you to our newsletter editors – Sarah Hoiland, Jessica Leveto, Mitchell McIvor, Charles Piscotello, and Kelly Giles (and the Publication Committee) – for transitioning our newsletter to a website and creating a guiding document to help future newsletter editors.

Thank you to all the volunteers for our mentoring roundtables at ASA. Some volunteered for this role prior to the 2020 meeting, which, well, you know what happened…but returned for a second try.

Thank you to Kathleen Lowney, Elizabeth Borland, and Kelly Giles for organizing writing groups for the section with me. And thank you to our participants!

Thank you to Sarah Hatteberg for overseeing a process for section gift memberships.

Thank you to Daina Cheyenne Harvey for digitizing our past section records and adding them to a section Google Drive.

Thank you to our outgoing Past-Chair (Alison Better), Secretary/Treasurer (Stacy Evans), council members, and webmaster (Linzi Berkowitz).

Thank you to our council members, committee chairs and committee members. It has been a tremendous ask for you to donate your time and energy to the section. Thank you.

Thank you to our incoming council members and thank you to everyone who ran in 2021.

Thank you to our section members. You could spend your money on other things but have chosen to spend a little bit of it on our section. I hope that you feel you got your money’s worth.

I don’t know what the next year will bring, but please introduce yourself and say hello whenever we meet again in person.

Take Care,

Stephanie
