The purpose of the punctuation and capitalization presentation "Patterns of Error" was to address error pattern analysis to help each student with editing and proofreading our prewriting and essays. The presentation helped each student to view the kinds of errors that are found while writing, clustering them into groups such as word choice, sentence punctuation, sentence structure, agreement, reference, modification, internal punctuation, spelling, and idiomatic lapses. After the presentation, it was realized that it is possible to find up to five or six sentence-punctuation and capitalization errors in an essay or prewriting.
