Before Self-enrolling contact your Unit Training Officer to ensure you meet the prerequisites to take the course.
The learning portal is an interagency enterprise learn-ing management system rather than a traditional web-site. Audience: people who are looking for information about wildland fire training opportunities or information about a specific session or geographic area training center, should visit the learning portal at wildlandfirelearningportal.net. Attached the pdf ‘new user information’ that was sent out in 2019 that explains what the portal is, and why we are using it now. Additionally a short PowerPoint and PDF on how to set up a profile in the learning portal.
It is super important that ANYONE who participates in fire training has an account in the Learning Portal, as that is where nearly all courses, (especially regional) course information, and training related correspondence will be coming from. Course coordinators will be reaching out directly to those selected for courses, which will not be successful without a portal account.
The Pacific Northwest Training Center is now using the Wildland Fire Learning Portal for course nominations. Learners need to self-enroll in their course wait lists. In doing so, they will confirm that permission to sign up has been granted by their manager. Training officers will be consulted prior to any course selections.
In order to add your name to a course wait list, search for your desired course under Find Learning (top of page menu) > Upcoming Courses > select course & click self-enroll (you can also find the list of courses specifically offered by the PNW Training Center by looking at the NW geographic area). You will then be taken to the course events page. After the course information toward the bottom of the page you will find a table of upcoming course events. Click "Join Waitlist" to complete your portion of the nomination process. Please note that other training centers may be using other methods for their course nominations.
