The Fraumünster Church is a stunning historic landmark in Zurich that was founded in 853 and has been modified and renovated over the centuries. It was first founded by King Louis the German, and was inhabited by aristocratic female convent members. The church is most famous for its stained glass windows, designed by artist Marc Chagall, which were installed in 1970. The green spire of Fraumünster is one of the most recognisable parts of Zurich, being visible in nearly every picture of the city.
Fraumünster Church is a must-visit if you're in Zurich, and is open from morning to evening all year round. Note that the church is closed for tourists from 11:30 am - 1 pm, so grab lunch at a nearby restaurant at that time instead! Tickets cost only 5 Francs per adult, and are free for children up to 16 years old or those with a student ID. Make sure you don't miss this key spot in your visit!
To get to the Fraumünster, you can take the train, which will take 17 minutes. First, you have to walk from the hotel to Waffenplatzstrasse station for 7 minutes, then take the Frankental train for 4 stops to Paradeplatz. Walk for around 3 minutes, and you'll be at Fraumunster!
