The Mysteries of Candle Making revealed...

Ever been fascinated by candles? Do you like the subtle, soft lighting provided by candles?

On this session you will get to see how candles can be made in different styles, different colours and with different scents.

Covered :-

You will learn all the basics of candle making, the equipment needed, and the types of candles that can be made for different situations. You will learn about the different types of materials that can be used to make candles and how to stay safe whilst creating your masterpieces.

You will also discover how to reclaim wax from other candles and to reuse this wax along with adding colouring and / or scents of your own.

Included :

This is a practical session so please wear appropriate clothes and bring an apron.

During the session we will be actually making candle(s) and you will be invited to make one yourself, which you can take home afterwards.

We will be using a variety of techniques including dipping, glass jars, and moulded candles.

Duration : 90 minutes

Cost : Minimum £15 to cover equipment , wax ,and includes a hot drink too

The Mysteries of Soap Making revealed...

We all take soap for granted. Hard soap or more often now liquid soap is in every kitchen and in every bathroom. But... there are a lot of nasties in soaps. In this session we are going to make soap which is only from luxurious natural ingredients that are kind to the skin, creamy, moisturising and beautifully scented.

On this session you will get to see how soap can be made using a cold technique.

Covered :-

You will learn all the basics of cold soap making, the ingredients and equipment needed, and how you can adjust and change the recipe to meet your own situations.

You will learn about what makes these soaps special the different types of materials that can be used and how to stay safe whilst soap making.

You will also discover how to reclaim soap when it is coming to an end, along with adding colouring and / or different scents of your own.

Included :

This is a practical session so please wear appropriate clothes and bring an apron.

During the session we will be actually making soap and each person attending will receive a piece of the soap we make... although you will need to wait a couple of days for it to cure.

Duration : 90 minutes

Cost : £10, includes a hot drink too

Colouring (SessionID: A0003 )

For tranquility and mindfulness...

Colouring-in is for 5 year old's right? Well yes of course but it is also for adults too.

One of today's biggest challenges is slowing down and letting the mind rest. There are plenty of activities to do this... meditation, Yoga, mindfulness to name but a few... but gaining popularity is colouring-in.

With just simple colour selection and keeping within the pattern you are working on, colouring-in provides a 'beautiful', relaxing, creative space to still the mind and remove ourselves from the hustle and bustle of daily life if only for 90 minutes.

Covered :-

No instruction in this learning session. Stay quiet and focus on the piece you are working on with accompanying soft meditative music, or join in with the light conversation.

Included :

There will be pencils and sheets with designs to work on provided

There may also be a selection of colouring books for you to purchase from local creatives.

Duration : 90 minutes

Cost : £5, suggested donation to pencils / designs and includes a hot drink too

Covered :-

Painting and drawing can be overwhelming so each of the different aspects will be covered..

• Life drawing
• Colour theory
• Art history
• Still Life
• Working with different types of paint

e.g watercolour, oil paints, acrylic.

Included :

Basic materials will be supplied (e.g paper) but it’s much better to bring your own – for example canvas, oil paints etc. A limited stock will be able to buy at the class (so don’t worry if you forget your stuff!).

Duration : 120 minutes

Cost : £15, includes basic materials and a hot drink too
