Meet Alberta Bud Inc

Budding into the industry has been an interesting journey to say the least. Everyone who has decided to start a cannabis business knows, it's anything but easy. Heavy taxation and regulation, major delays, plummeting prices and bankrupt companies. Luck has definitely been on our side but we have experienced many hurdles just the same. Alberta Bud was the first cannabis company in Alberta to get both our micro cultivation and micro processing licenses from Health Canada. There have been many steps on our journey of building our facility, fine tuning our cultivation and processing practices, and getting our products to market.

It all started back in 2012. Our CEO and Co-Founder Tim was studying to be a lawyer and began researching the new medical cannabis regulations that had enabled him to obtain a medical cannabis prescription. The cost of setting up an LP at that time was astronomical, so he bought the domain name albertabud.com, finished his law degree, became a lawyer and waited for legalization.

In 2019, Alberta Bud was formed with a team of owner-operators, growers and investors. We obtained a 6,000 square foot former flooring warehouse in Edmonton, renovated it, and started growing in September of 2020.

This year we have been privileged to hire more staff, win the Canna Reps Collectors Cup for our Uppercut Punch (cookies n cream x purple punch 2.0), which was also recently featured in High Times. Our other notable strains include Slurface (fruity- zkittlewood x slurricane), 24K Gold (orange - tangie x kosher kush) and Super Petrol (acrid - GMO x rocketfuel).

We also make whole flower pre-rolls, hand sifted to remove stems and increase potency, packed with a centrifugal pre-roll machine and hand finished, these 27-33% pre-rolls are unlike all others currently on the market, burning like cigars and bursting with flavor. We will bring our pre-rolls and hash joints to market throughout Canada this year, and stay tuned to hear more about our collaboration with Medical Cannabis Health Services to bring their amazing 1:1 full spectrum topical to market this summer.
