Storytelling

Storytelling is as old as humans. It is the way we pass our stories and experiences from parents to children, from older to younger generations.

Telling stories is also a fantastic way to learn English and languages in general.

Bellow, you may find several stories which you must learn, practice and later act out in front of younger students from a Primary school in our village.

HOW TO WRITE A STORY:

Write a summary plot.
Create three characters (four maximum) plus a narrator.
Elaborate the story, write the dialogues.
Begin the story. "Once upon a time, there was..."
Finish the story. "And they lived happily ever after..."

Make sure:

It is easy to follow.
there is cohesion between characters and within the narrative.
You include morals, values, and therefore a conclusion maybe withdrawn from your story.
It is a good idea to repeat the same structures changing only a little part of the story

If you find it very difficult to create your own story you can always start from an invented one, change the characters and the plot and make it your own. Just don't publish it or you'll be accused of plagiarism.

Story and Cooperative Writing:

Design a character each. Every member of the group makes up a character, except for the narrator. You still don't know how the characters will be linked, that will be your next step. 3 Characters, 4 maximum plus a narrator.
Create a setting.
Now create the story. Start from the beginning, every member creates a part of the story, you need to introduce the characters little by little, one at a time. You may use the "spinning sheet" for this part.
Make sure the different parts connect, if not, connect them now.
Make drawings or insert photos or designs from internet.
Write the final version of the story.
Tell the story to your classmates.
