Last summer, I went camping with a couple of friends. It was supposed to be the best part of our summer holidays but soon we realized that things couldn't have gone worse.
First and due to the fact that we didn’t have a car, we decided to hitch-hike. Our parents were appalled at the idea and tried to convince us not to do it. Later we found our that we should have listened to them and ought to have taken a bus instead. The people that gave us a ride were a bunch of hippies riding a very old Volkswagen camper van, they all had long hair and tattoos and must have been in their late 40s.
When we finally arrived at our destination we found out that the camp site was closed so we had to check into the only hotel in the area, a five-star hotel, so our whole budget was going to vanish right then.
Since we couldn’t go out for dinner, as everything was too expensive, we stayed in our rooms playing cards. We were about to go to sleep when we heard a loud noise, there were guitars and drums playing in what seemed to be a beach concert. We looked out the window, and there they were, the hippies from the van. We needn’t have joined them but it seemed like the best possible option at the time.
Luckily, when we shared the story with the band members they decided to pay for our bill and bought us dinner, in the end they were very nice people, interesting and even famous, we should have known before but we don’t listen to the same type of music.
To sum up, the worst day of my life wasn’t so bad after all but we ought to have done some research before going on holidays, although that is what travelling is about, isn’t it?
Watch this video. What do you think it might have happened? and with the boy? and in general?
