The Year 12 Religious Education subject, Living Justice Living Peace, is centred around Catholic Social Teaching. Students explore topics such as ethics, relationships and decision-making from a Christian moral perspective.
Through the eyes of the Marian Learner, the unit addresses global issues and challenges, encouraging students to consider aspects such as justice, tolerance, reconciliation, peace, ecology, nonviolence, respect and appreciation for others.
Through discussions on social justice, good citizenship and the Core Values of Kildare Ministries and Brigidine charism, students are inspired to become active members of their communities, both locally and internationally.
Skills used in this subject include critical thinking, interviewing, ethical decision-making, research and analysis, communication, empathy, active listening, teamwork and problem-solving. Students will develop their understanding and appreciation of different religions, perspectives and beliefs, as well as their ability to engage in respectful and constructive dialogue on complex social and ethical issues.
