Top tips for building muscle

As someone who has trained for over 2 years, I have made my fair share of mistakes which has undoubtedly created more obstacles than I would have liked. However as a result, I’ve also learnt a lot of things about how to build muscle in a sustainable way.

Tip 1: Train hard

Training hard doesn’t mean going crazy! How are you supposed to grow if you’re too sore? Being super sore just means you damaged more muscle than actually growing it!

Little improvements like an extra rep or improved technique goes a long way!

Tip 2: Technique

Learn how to do a good rep of an exercise first. Stop jumping to lift heavy weights. I know you want to impress your friends, but if you lift heavy and injure yourself, how do you think that makes you look?

Tip 3: Sleep!

Everyone knows that growth occurs when we sleep. Make sure to get in those hours! I know you all have been studying and doing homework but if you’re reducing your sleep to do homework, you should definitely reconsider!

Tip 4: Eat well

Eat a variety of food. Your body needs plenty of nutrients. We’re young, our bodies are at its peak in terms of growth so make the most out of your puberty and grow!

Tip 5: Consistency

Creating a schedule that you can easily stick to is vital if you want to really grow. This way tracking progress and improvements is way easier and you’re not stuck wondering why you’re not growing.

Tip 6: Like what you do!

You don’t have to go to the gym. You can choose whatever activities you like. If you don’t like it, you’re not going to put any effort into it. So experiment and discover what suits you best!

I have also put together a list of influencers and youtubers who have taught me the most about how to be healthy and build muscle!

Just a warning, some of these people will swear so please be mature about it. They have great information if you overlook everything else.
