SOUTHSIDE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER CODE OF CONDUCT
ATTENDANCE
Players
Practice starts and ends at the time set by the coach.
Missing Practice (*Excused): You must notify your coach if you are unable to attend practice.
This also includes checking out of the 7th and 8th period Athletic PE Class.
Excused Absences may include but are not limited to a death in the family, illness, funerals, and college visits.
Missing Practices (*Unexcused): If you skip a practice or have a rare occasion that you must miss practice and do not notify the coach in the proper time frame, it will be considered unexcused.
Unexcused Absences are typically those absences which are for personal benefity and the activity could have been scheduled for a different time. Each coach will determine the penalties for an unexcused absence.
Parents
Be sure to pick up your athlete on time. Coaches will end their practices on time.
IN SEASON TRY-OUTS FOR CLUBS AND TEAMS
You may not try out for any teams until the high school season has officially concluded.
UNACCEPTABLE ACTIONS AND SANCTIONS
Use of profanity is prohibited. All offenses will be addressed by the coach.
Conduct unbecoming a student-athlete not during an athletic connected or related activity, including but not limited to fighting, insubordination, theft, disrespect, aiding/abetting, inappropriate behavior on a school bus/van, abusing equipment, etc will be addressed by the High School Administration and/or the coach and may result in:
Administrative Athletic Suspension from the sport for the number of specific days a penalty would have occurred if it happened in school. This penalty is enforced, the athlete will be suspended from all contests and practices during that time period.
If appropriate, referral to the proper law enforcement agency.
The athlete may attend practice and contests but may not participate during an Administrative Athletic Suspension.
Coaches reserve the right to have their own penalties run concurrent or consecutive to the administrative athletic suspension.
HAZING
Any infraction will be disciplined in accordance with the infraction and may result in dismissal from the team. The suspension will be determined by the coach and/or on the administrative level.
SOCIAL MEDIA
I will refrain from posting any material that could be viewed as profane, disrespectful, racist, ethnically insensitive, or derogatory on Social Media of any kind. This includes but is not limited to: SnapChat, Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, Twitter,Twitch, etc..
I will not criticize teammates, coaches, administration nor parents on the above-mentioned social media platforms.
I will participate in all fundraisers and events. If I am unable to participate I will inform the coach and provide specific reasons.
PARENTAL CODE OF CONDUCT EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
I will ensure the coach is informed when I know my player will be absent from scheduled events.
I will support the team by volunteering at the coach’s request.
I will control my emotions at athletic contests. I will not yell at players, parents, coaches, or officials.
I will be a positive cheerleader at athletic contests for my child and his/her teammates.
I will allow the coach to do their job. I will not attempt to interfere with nor negatively influence the coach.
I will respect the authority of the coach and communicate openly with them.
I will respect and encourage all players.
I will do my best to make Southside High School Soccer athletic contests a positive experience for all participants.
