This season the APSL is hosting Futsal instead of indoor Soccer. All High School Games will be played at the Dream Center 600 Black Creek Rd, Gadsden, AL 35904. It is a great developmental game which will help prepare you for the High School season. This is not school affiliated. It does not use walls like the Indoor Soccer game but is played indoors. I have added a definition of Futsal. The Link says season starts this week but it will be Dec. 8th before we begin. There is a middle school and high school league. All Southside players will play with other SS Players in their age group.
Futsal is an association football-based game played on a hard court smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and indoor soccer.[1]
Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor soccer, it is played on a hard court surface marked by lines; walls or boards are not used. It is played with a smaller, harder, lower-bounce ball than football.[3] The surface, ball and rules favour ball control and passing in small spaces.[4] The game emphasizes control, improvisation, creativity and technique.[5]
