I have received several messages about not being able to attend camp this summer. I know that some parents have already planned trips, etc.. and I am in no way asking anyone to cancel.  However, the overwhelming number of players/parents I have talked with have said things like “we try to limit our summer” or simply “we won’t be able to attend”.  At our parent meeting in September of last year and reiterated at our 2nd meeting, I emphasized the importance of the month of June.  We moved the camp time to 6 pm-9 pm to facilitate those who are working or practicing other sports.  Most of the other sports at Southside are working out daily beginning at 5 a.m.. That is not my desire or my plan.  Nonetheless, our 2 day a week workouts at 10 a.m. and our 3 playdates are not too much to ask.  Last summer paved the way for the success we had this past season.  I cannot emphasize this any more than I already have. The Shorter University Camp is a collegiate level camp that if held anywhere else would cost $500-800 dollars; we have brought the camp to you in your neighborhood for only $110.  None of the schools involved receive any funds from this camp. This Camp is June 19th, 20th, and 22nd from 6-9 pm.  Coach Furey from Shorter University is a former National Coach of the Year and this year he is also joined by Bryan College Head Coach and Former Manchester City Goalkeeper Tom Hansall. Coach Halsall left Man. City and had a two-month loan spell at Championship side Derby County, before making the decision to move to America to play collegiate soccer and to earn a degree.
