Welcome to Mother 1/EarthBound Beginnings/EarthBound Zero/Earth Bound! The classic game that is one of the best of the 8 bit era has many guides that can all be found below. Control Ninten in a weird and strange world where you fight dolls, rats and trucks, where you travel across the open world to collect melodies to play to Maria. Ninten knows that he needs to find all of the melodies across the world to save the world.
Offense: 8
Defense: 8
Fight: 8
Speed: 8
Wisdom: 1
Strength: 5
Force: 3
Total: 41
PSI Abilities: None
Teddy is the best character in the game for a variety of reasons. You don't have to train him separately when you get him, so he gains experience points very, very, fast. He has an insane growth rate for all of his stats, along with being an all around stronger party member with better offensive items he can equip and everything. He's way better than Lloyd in the party.
Ninten:
Offense: 4
Defense: 4
Fight: 4
Speed: 4
Wisdom: 4
Strength: 4
Force: 4
Total: 28
PSI Abilities: Telepathy, LifeUp, Hypnosis, Healing, DefenseUp, Def.Down, 4th- D Slip, PSIShield, QuickUp, OffenseUp, PowerShield, SuprHealing
Ninten just has generally decent stats and can hit pretty hard throughout the whole game. I think that he also has a decent selection of PSI abilities as well considering how useful PSIShield and Def.Down are in this game. He can just generally hit hard here.
Lloyd:
Offense: 3
Defense: 1
Fight: 3
Speed: 1
Wisdom: 5
Strength: 3
Force: 2
Total: 18
PSI Abilities: None
Lloyd is around as good as Ninten, but considering he can't use PSI abilities and has slightly worse stats, I have to put him lower. He can use bottle rockets, but if you want them you have to travel back to Sweet's Little Factory to get your infinite supply. These can also only get you so far, and big bottle rockets are super rare and expensive.
Offense: 0
Defense: 2
Fight: 0
Speed: 2
Wisdom: 6
Strength: 2
Force: 7
Total: 19
PSI Abilities: Telepathy, LifeUp, PK Freeze, PK Thunder, BrainShock, PSIShield, PK Beam, Healing, PSI-Magnet, PSI-Block, Hypnosis, PK Fire, SuprHealing, Shield-Off, Darkness, PowerShield, BrainCyclone
Ana is probably the worst character in Mother because she has terrible stats with not many redeeming qualities. She has all of the best PSI abilities in the game, but outside of healing the party, (which is something Ninten can already do pretty well,) she has her attacking PSI abilities which seem really good but outside of PK Beam, most deal less damage than an attack from Ninten or Lloyd.

Mother 1 Walkthrough
In the world of Mother, you need to know how to face off against all of the tough enemies in the game. First, let's go over all of the commands. Fight is your regular attack, it deals a certain amount of damage that can be boosted by weapons. Every one in a while, you'll get a critical hit, which shows up on screen as Smaaaash!! With extra sound effects and visual effects. There's auto, which has the game auto fight for you. It will prioritize healing and doesn't use PSI moves or offensive items. PSI is where you can access your PSI menu. You can use these in exchange for PP for a variety of effects, some lower the enemy's defense, some deal heavy damage to the enemy, and some heal your team. There's guard, where you can use your turn to boost your defense. There's goods, where you can access all of your items. You can use them, and they either deal damage to the enemy, heal you, or other strange effects. There's run, where you'll have a chance to escape from battle. Each one of your party members has a chance at successfully doing this command. Finally, there's check, where you can get insight on the enemy's HP and other stats.
Sleep - Unable to do anything. Can be healed by waiting in battle

In Mother 1, there's an old man in Mislay Triangle who's lost his dentures. To get them, go down the hill and around the hill counter clockwise. At the end of this path, you'll find some dentures. Go back around the path and go up to give the dentures to the old mountain prophet. He'll let you buy mouthwash from him for a way cheaper price that any other places in the world of Mother.
In Ellay, the northwestern part of town has a tower. If you go inside, you can head to the top and travel to the island. Here, you'll find Able and Baker. They need Strawberry Tofu. To get Strawberry Tofu, you can head to the Reindeer Department Store and buy it from there. If you give Strawberry Tofu to Baker, he will give you Swear Words. If you give it to Able, he will tell you about EVE, and will give you the Words of Love item
