Class: Middleweight
Acceleration: 3
Weight: 3
Top Speed: 3
Braking: 3
Handling: 5
Drift: 5
Off-Road: 3
Luigi having good stats in every category makes him pretty much busted. He isn't bad in any category, almost every other character is at least bad in one important category. He even has exceptional handling and drifting, which are very important stats.
Class: Middleweight
Acceleration: 3
Weight: 3
Top Speed: 3
Braking: 3
Handling: 3
Drift: 3
Off-Road: 3
Mario is the same as Luigi except he has two less handling and drifting. He's still really good though.
Class: Heavyweight
Acceleration: 1
Weight: 5
Top Speed: 5
Braking: 1
Handling: 1
Drift: 2
Off-Road: 1
Bowser may not seem very good until you realize that the two most important stats, Weight and Top Speed are literally the most important stats in this game. Having him exceed at both of them makes him a very good choice as a driver in this game.
Class: Heavyweight
Acceleration: 2
Weight: 4
Top Speed: 4
Braking: 2
Handling: 2
Drift: 4
Off-Road: 2
DK has very good stats but he has 1 less Top Speed and 1 less Weight compared to Bowser. The extra stats in the other categories makes him an acceptable choice as a driver, so just choose which ever one you perfer if given these options.
Class: Lightweight
Acceleration: 5
Weight: 1
Top Speed: 2
Braking: 4
Handling: 3
Drift: 3
Off-Road: 4
Toad has some great acceleration and some very acceptable handling and off road speed. Acceleration is actually way more important in this game compared to others, one of the reasons being that the start up boost is way harder to hit. Otherwise he's an acceptable option.
Class: Lightweight
Acceleration: 5
Weight: 1
Top Speed: 2
Braking: 3
Handling: 4
Drift: 2
Off-Road: 4
Peach has very similar stats to Toad but she actually has a net loss in terms of stat gains and losses. If you really like the stats on her you can choose her over Toad but in general I wouldn't recommend it.
Class: Heavyweight
Acceleration: 2
Weight: 4
Top Speed: 4
Braking: 2
Handling: 1
Drift: 1
Off-Road: 2
Wario has very high speed and weight similar to the other heavyweights but it loses a LOT in other categories compared to the lightweights ahead of it. It's still a viable option but it isn't ideal.
Class: Lightweight
Acceleration: 4
Weight: 2
Top Speed: 1
Braking: 5
Handling: 5
Drift: 3
Off-Road: 5
Yoshi is really not a viable character. It has exceptional stats in Braking, Handling and Off-Road which are the least important stats. Having high acceleration is nice but it doesn't fix the fact it has absolutely terrible Top Speed, the two stats work in tandem with each other.

Mario Kart: Super Circuit Walkthrough
When racing, you might find drifting to be tough to figure out at first, but it's actually easy once you learn to power slide. In order to Power Slide you must first start the drift. When you start the drift position yourself on the opposite side of the road from where you drifting in, if you're drifting to the left then start the drift on the right side of the road. Start the drift towards the side you're drifting, and then end the drift by hopping in the opposite side of the drift. You can get a mini-turbo in this game, but the ways you can get it include having one long clean drift and then ending it. If you mess up your alignment then you can hop while drifting to realign.
You might not know this, but you can actually unlock all 20 courses from the original SNES game! The way you can do this is by first playing through one of the normal cups. You're goal here is to get 100 coins in total over the 4 races. If you do this, you unlock the extra version of that cup. The only other thing you need to do is that you need to unlock all of the extra cups on their respective CC, so you need to unlock individually each version.
In Mario Kart: Super Circuit, whichever character you choose decides what opponents will go fast. For example, if you choose Mario, then DK will be your main competition, while Wario won't be a problem. Anyone not mentioned means that they are very slow. They are ranked by how fast they go.
Mario - 1. DK 2. Bowser 3. Luigi 4. Yoshi
Luigi - 1. Wario 2. Toad 3. Yoshi 4. Mario
Peach - 1. Luigi 2. Bowser 3. DK 4. Yoshi
Toad - 1. Peach 2. Luigi 3. Yoshi 4. Mario
Yoshi - 1. Peach 2. Luigi 3. Toad 4. Mario
DK - 1. Yoshi 2. Bowser 3. Toad 4. Luigi
Wario - 1. Bowser 2. DK 3. Yoshi 4. Mario
Bowser - 1. DK 2. Peach 3. Mario 4. Yoshi
In Mario Kart: Super Circuit, you can unlock the SNES tracks. If you want a more in depth analysis of the original SNES tracks, see my Super Mario Kart Guide. Otherwise, the tracks don't have any hazards and you can't get the feather item in this game, so you're main strategies to finish the game is to stay on the road and use the mushroom and hop to clear some of the feather gaps from the original.
This walkthrough includes absolutely everything you'll need to fully experience this classic 2001 kart racer featuring Mario and friends! This walkthrough features everything you need including maps of the courses, shortcuts, and ultra shortcuts!
