Second Melody

The following is an in-depth guide for the Second Melody of Mother 1.

After this, your sister in this room will give you infinite juice. You can always come back to get juice from her. Head downstairs and talk to your mother. After you talk to her the phone will ring. Answer it to talk to your dad. You can always talk to the phone to save your game. He tells you to go downstairs to get something, but you need the key first. Go outside.

Ninten's House (Outside)

When you get outside, you should head to the left and talk to your dog to get the Basement Key. Go back inside, heal, and then use the Basement Key on the door to go into the basement. Here, beware of Rats.

These guys aren't too tough. In fact, take the time to train yourself to level four or five now, as you can go back up to heal if you need to. Here you can also find Great Grandfather's Diary, a very important item, Bread, and a Plastic Bat that you should equip now. Read the Diary for a secret password. The bread can be used to place crumbs, and the crumbs can be used to teleport to wear you originally used. Once you're ready, leave the house and go right through the path to enter the Podunk area.

There are a ton of new enemies to find here, so beware of the Centipede, Crow, Snake, Stray Dog, The Hippie and Walley.

This seems like a ton of new enemies, but they aren't too bad by this point, and you can easily train and maneuver them. Remember to press B to run around on the overworld. Eventually, you'll find a house with someone who says that Pippi is missing. Go south and you'll end up in the actual Podunk town. Eventually you'll find a Deptartment Store where you can withdraw money and but new things. At the Pet Store, you can buy a Canary, but refuse to pay and you'll get it for free.  This Canary has to be taken into Canary Village. Go northwest from Podunk and across the bridge to get into the Canary Village area.

Canary Village

Go to the left and up through the hole in the wall to enter the village. Go left and then north and the immefiately right. Then head northeast and navigate through the west trees. You'll find five statues, one of which is a different color. Go behind that one and go north to find a canary character. Use the Canary on this character to hear the second melody.
