Hello, and welcome to my corner of the internet!
My name is Hanieh, and I am an artist and eternal student exploring the intersections of storytelling, visual art, and community building. Creativity has always been my way of connecting with others; whether through animation, illustration, painting, or collaborative projects that bring families and communities together.
Much of my work is inspired by faith, transformation, and persistence. These themes shape both my art practice and my teaching. I believe creativity is more than a skill; it is a kind of superpower that allows us to envision better possibilities, to give form to what does not yet exist, and to persist in bringing those visions to life despite opposition or doubt.
In addition to my own practice, I have gained experience teaching art to both IB Visual Arts students and elementary students at Tehran international school, Iran. My experience with my 160+ students deepened my belief that art education can empower learners of all ages to express themselves, think critically, and find confidence in their creativity.
I graduate from George Mason University in May 2026. During my study I focused on animation, illustration, and approaches to art education. Alongside my studies, I am developing my own online Boutique shop, which will soon feature handmade artworks sourced from my home country, Iran.
This website is a space for me to share my journey, my experiments, successes, and the struggles that come with balancing perfectionism and creative growth. I hope it can also serve as a meeting point for others who value Art, imagination, and community.
Thank you for being here.
To stay spiritually connected with God, I contemplate my existence in the world as it is deemed the highest form of worship in Islam. As a multilingual Muslim immigrant, I travel frequently. This experience has made me constantly question my identity and purpose with regards to different contexts. Through my travels, I have learned that people, although very diverse, are similar at their core and only different in appearance. It is easy to organize people into black and white, us vs. them; yet we are a spectrum of beings all coming from the same light. Last year, I decided to study fine arts because it seemed like the only outlet that allows me to both appreciate life and always be in a state of growth continuously. I like the flexibility of using multiple mediums in drawing and painting to arrive at the scenes and images that I want to portray. I also explore Islamic values and stories. I believe the greatest art in the world is not to invent something for the sake of it, but to see and hear the truth of what life’s elements are without prejudice and to celebrate them. I do not merely accept things as they currently seem, instead, I believe the truth and authenticity of things can only be realized when they are dynamic, moving towards their specific purpose. As an artist, and person, I do not settle for less. To realize true purpose in life’s elements and achieve it in myself, is my highest aspiration.
