Developing a Prompt: Watercolor

Prompt: Explore the Different Facets of Being a community member while Experimenting with watercolor techniques and qualities and Properties such as transparency, fluidity, color mixing, and texture/patterns.

Necessary Skills: 

• Know the required amount of water needed

• The ability to embrace mistakes and have patience to build up layers.

• layering from light to darker values as watercolor is transparent and also hard to erase.

• how to use a brush and color cleanly without mudding.

If the Students feel the prompt is too broad help them narrow their vision by asking these questions:

1. What are the different Members' roles within a community

2. What activities do communities do together

3. How do you feel that you are part of a community

4. How can we ensure our communities are inclusive and accessible to others?

5. Are all communities the same? what are some differences and similarities?
