Preparation Guide for Parents

Dear Parents,

How have you been? As we enter a season of uncertainty, let us be encouraged by God’s promises that He will save us even when we can't save ourselves.

We hope that despite the many disruptions to our weekly routine, our children will be able to experience God and grow in their faith. This is a good time for us to ground our children in the promises of God as we claim them through these trying times, encouraging them and guiding them to encounter God in their own way.

We urge you, as a parent/guardian, to take this chance to introduce 'Church-at-home', where you can enjoy a time of togetherness as a family. Do take the lead to help your child(ren) experience worshiping as a family and apply key Biblical concepts in their daily lives – reinforcing that God is not just a ‘Sunday God’ but an every day God.

Church-at-home may sound unfamiliar and take awhile to cultivate. But a child learns most effectively while following in their parent's footsteps. While there is no 'right way' to conduct a lesson or tests to pass, bringing up a child in the ways of the Lord should begin at home.

We hope that you will set apart some time from your week, to pray and ask the Lord to anoint you, as you use our provided material to lead and guide your child.

If you encounter any difficulties in explaining some Biblical concepts or would like some additional material, please feel free to reach out.

The team of Silver Boxes leaders will continue to pray for our children that they will continue to grow in the Word and in Christ.

Keyword: Justification

Lesson's Main Point: We cannot help ourselves. Only God can help us.

What is Justification?

It's a big word.

Put simply, it tells us that we can have a good relationship with God because Jesus died on the cross for us.

As your child grows up, there will be many times he/she sees God helping him/ her, or times where they might experience discouragement. Make use of this lesson to affirm your child, and point him/her to Jesus.

We cannot save ourselves, because we have all sinned.
But God can!
