Lent is the six week (40-day) period leading up to Easter. It is one of the most important times of year for many Christians around the world.
Lent is the time of year when we prepare our hearts to celebrate Easter. Lent began on 22 February 2023. The word Lent comes from an older English word meaning “springtime.”
Lent lasts for 40 days, not counting Sundays, and ends on Easter.
During Lent, many Christians fast, or go without regular meals. They do this to remember Jesus and how he fasted for 40 days in the desert. We can “fast” during Lent by giving up something that we enjoy, such as social media, a favorite food or a fun activity.
So make yourselves humble. Put yourselves under God’s mighty hand. Then he will honor you at the right time.
1 Peter 5:6
But the Lord wants to have mercy on you. So he will rise up to give you his tender love.
The Lord is a God who is always fair. Blessed are all those who wait for him to act!

(There is no onsite Silver Boxes on every first Sunday of the month.)

As we continue our PLMC church-wide Bible reading with ROAD through the Bible, explore God’s hand and God’s plan using the R.O.A.D. study points. Use this guide to help your kids navigate through the Bible and have God-time together.
Read God’s Word;
Observe what He is telling you;
Apply it to your life or situation;
Do what is necessary to carry out God’s instruction for you.
Study the Scriptures together as a family, guide your child/children to have daily devotion using the R.O.A.D. pointers.
