Teacher Quality Standard 4
Teacher Quality Standard 4
Teachers demonstrate professionalism through ethical conduct, reflection, and leadership.
Element A
Teachers demonstrate high standards for professional conduct.
I strive to maintain professionalism in all facets of teaching whether it is with dress, verbal or written communication, and being a part of the community.
Element B
Teachers link professional growth to their professional goals.
At our weekly PD meetings I am always searching for things to implement in my classroom. I do this by taking detailed notes and maintaining an open mind and working to integrate at least one thing in the classroom before the next PD.
Element C
Teachers are able to respond to a complex, dynamic environment.
Classrooms, inherently, are some of the most dynamic places that exist. When you collect that many young people with differing backgrounds and skills into one place you will automatically have a dynamic environment. I respond to this by keeping expectations and procedures as consistent as possible.
Element D
Teachers demonstrate leadership in the school, the community, and the teaching profession.
During my Student Teaching experience, I attended many extracurricular activities like sporting events, community events, and school dances. This showed my willingness to be a part of the school community and support my students outside of academics. I went out of my way to participate in these activities which exhibits leadership in furthering my experience.
