This unit plan shows my understanding of the Colorado Academic Standards as well as my ability to create multiple lesson plans that are directly aligned with those standards. Each lesson flows seamlessly into the next lesson to create a cohesive unit plan that is also culturally responsive and sustainable.

This lesson plan shows my ability to integrate literacy through other content areas. In this case, I taught a lesson on the origin of the Star-Spangled Banner and we completed an analysis of its lyrics as well as compared it to national anthems from around the world.
