22 August 2024 - 24 October 2024
Classroom 22 (Cendana), Yale-NUS College
Brought to you by the Yale-NUS Philosophy Major, the Metaphysics of Gender Speaker Series features four invited speakers who will be visiting the YHU3398 Metaphysics of Gender course in person and virtually from Singapore and North America.
Metaphysics of Gender is an upper-level philosophy elective at Yale-NUS College which covers metaphysical views of gender from historical to contemporary times. Some of the historical views covered include Ancient Greek, Classical Chinese, Hindu, and Buddhist views on gender, and some of the contemporary views include views by Butler, Haslanger, Crenshaw, and Ashley. The speaker series invites guest speakers with expertise in some of these areas to share their current research or work with our students.
While this speaker series has primarily been organised as an opportunity for our students to learn from our invited speakers and mentors, we welcome visitors to our course during these dates. Should you be interested in attending our talks as a course visitor, do browse our talk descriptions and individually register for each talk.
