RP Rules

** Basic RP Rules **

Do not God-mod: God modding is when a character features god-like abilities, such as invincibility, mind control, or other unrealistic powers that do not fit in the settings. Another form is when your character does something impossible that could kill them.

Do not Meta-game: Meta gaming is when a player applies out-of charter retrieved information to their in-character, like the following
- knowing someone’s name without being introduced
- having information that only several in-characters players know, and you obtained it without having your character there
- by just hearing information from others out of character
- by reading someone's profile
- right-click and edit on “evidence”  on a scene to know who committed a crime

Do not Auto: Auto is when a player performs an action without giving the affected players a chance to respond to those around them. 

Do not Power-play: Power-playing occurs when a player operates someone's character without the other player's consent. You take active control of what the other character does, feels or thinks, this is not fair to the other player.

Do not become a Mary-Sue or Gary-Stu: A Mary-Sue is a specific kind of character that has a lot of feats, and no flaws. Too perfect to be true.

** Shadowfall RP Rules **

Shadowfall Combat meter: Everyone entering ShadowFall is required to wear the ShadowFall combat meter (and be set to "IC") during active RP  except inside safe zones.
Wearing your tag means you are there for rp and active. If you go afk please mark yourself OOC if it is for a short time. If you're going to be a while go to a designated spot or your home and go OOC.  

RP by Consent: Always send a brief IM to the other RP'ing party prior to starting an RP with them to make sure they're able/willing to participate. 

Limits: Always respect an RP'ers limits. Always. If you have any questions or concerns about their limits, please ask OOC'ly in an IM prior to starting RP.

Adult Content: This is an adult sim and scenes like capture, scratching, biting, nudity , rape & violence can happen as part of an RP scene.

Take turns: Please post your RP in a single message. Doing multiple posts will make people confused so gather your thoughts and responses into one single post. Give the other RP'er(s) time to post a response.

RP Style: Shadowfall is not specifically a para-RP or semi-para-RP sim. So knowing your RP counterpart's preferences can help enhance everyone's RP.

No Cheating: Please respect and follow the general basic rules of roleplay. God-modding and meta-gaming during an RP is considered "cheating". Please play fair. Using non-physical items to pass through walls, floors and other objects is not allowed at any time.

Using Dice: If you want to perform a risky action (kidnap, stab, shoot or… ) you can Roll a dice to see if your action had succeeded to make it fair on success, escape or miss. Click the other players SF hud (click above their head) and choose RP Dice, put your action in the pop up and click submit. The outcome is non negotiable within limits and RP can continue.
RP dice is a mix of chance, and your level points gets added. Fe:
