Combat Rules

ShadowFall operates a firearms policy to cultivate two core groups - The Yakuza and the Wolf Consortium Group

Breaking Rules: To be clear, breaking basic SIM rules will result in ejection - breaking the IC laws may result in arrest or injury and is considered part of good RP. If you choose to break the law you are expected to accept the consequences which may include a jail term.

Gun permit: A gun permit is no longer needed at the Shadowfall sims, you can acquire your guns at one of the three gun shops around the city. Only Shadowfall weapons are allowed, Small explosive devices such as for blowing a door open, a hole in a wall etc. are allowed in order to support a realistic RP.  No shields of any kind are allowed.  We are an urban RP with competing gangs and a sex industry, not a military or first person shooter battlefield.

Gunfight: If you are behaving in a threatening manner be aware that you may be taken down be it by the police, citizen or criminal. If you find yourself in an area controlled by another faction or person then you may likewise be shot.  If a gunfight is in progress and you approach upon it you may be shot. We prefer some rp before hand however in some situations this may not be possible. Whenever possible please try to give two posts and wait for a response. If you feel another has an unfair advantage you can always use the RP-dice on the Shadowfall Combat Meter to decide on the final blow.

Winning Combat: Only the victor in a combat has a basic right of kidnap, since there should be a consequence of losing.

Losing Combat: The loser has an option, either submit to being kidnapped for at least one hour (subject to reasonable limits) or be mugged for $30. To refuse either option or going AFK to delay or avoid choosing is considered a breach of SIM rules. However, please note that neither is automatic. The victor must demand, either by RP or failing which by OOC, that the loser chooses which they prefer and then continue accordingly.

Injuries: Always role play your injuries for the appropriate amount of time. 

Shot by Police: PLEASE NOTE Being shot down by the police is not the same.  See the Criminal Regulations for more information.

Limits breached?: As always, the objective is to have fun and promote an engaging, urban RP environment. Do remember it is your responsibility to let others know if something goes beyond your borders, so please notify them OOC. If you are uncomfortable, walk or teleport away and never spoil the fun of others by arguing in local or group chat.

Friendly reminder on cheating: no TP or flying of any kind is allowed in Shadowfall, e.g. you can't get to a rooftop unless there is a legitimate way to get there, you can't TP through a wall etc.. When you are "killed" or "unconscious" and eliminated from combat you must not rejoin the RP until the meter allows you to.  Shooting before you are fully recovered is cheating and will result in instant ejection from the SIM
