Basic Rules

Shadowfall Combat Meter: ShadowFall Combat Meter is required at all times outside of designated safe zones.  (see below). Our Combat Meter (found at the landing point) *must* be worn at all times. It does feature IC (in character) and OOC (out of character) modes. Exceptions to the "must be worn" rule would be during our Town Hall weekly meetings or during special events.

We are a Human only place: This means no monsters, no Furries, no vampires, and no zombies. We're sorry, but yes this includes nekos too. (( Within Private rentals are ok in the suburbs ))

If you question whether your character may be classified as a "Furry", please ask an admin. Only they can determine this for the sim. If you have questions if your avatar fits into this feel free to ask an admin. 

We do make certain exceptions.

If you want to role play as a dog with a proper dog avatar you are welcome here.  However, you must act the part. This includes no IC talking. No driving while rp'ing as a dog.

Human cows and pony girls (or pony boys) are welcome here. Typically, this is limited to The Badlands regions in or near the stables. However, hucows and ponygirls may be encountered anywhere within Shadowfall: Nightfall so long as they are acting in character.

Age Limit: All avatars must be 18+ years of age. No underage avatars will be allowed. 

IC/OOC: All local chat is considered IC unless (...) is used. All IM's are considered OOC. Whenever there is a SIM event it is possible IC and OOC are mixed. 

Weapons: As for props, realistic portable urban weapons only.  No Flame throwers, rocket launchers, heavy weapons.  No grappling hooks that work horizontally that basically substitute flying. 

Combat: Only those that are provided or approved for the Combat system may be used. There are three Gunshops spread over the Sims.

This may be changing in the near future as we look at introducing some exciting new weapons.

Unless the hud or gadget was designed for Shadowfall combat system it is not allowed for use in combat. No enhancement or spell huds unless given approval by Admin.

Consent: All RP, including combat is by consent, don't force either onto people who do not wish it.. Do not disturb people inside their private rented premises unless they have their home-invasion beacon on and their hud is showing them IC.

Understand that whilst wearing a meter you may be shot at..

Combat: Make sure you have read and understood the Combat rules <link to page> and consequences of losing. If you don't want to be captured or kidnapped make sure you have sufficient local money to pay fines or ransom demands

Traveling on the Sims: To RP you can rezz a vehicle that could realistically be seen in a city. Make sure to pick the item up after the RP. No flying, No TP, only realistic movements.  Don't do anything you could obviously not do in RL. Try to keep your actions and RP realistic.

Note: Admins may TP into a scene at any time if there is trouble

Disagreements in RP: If you have any issues about an RP or peoples' actions DO IM them and politely explain the problem OOC. Do not attempt to resolve/air your differences in Shadowfall group chat.

Note: Admins can be called upon on issues or disagreements, just know they are not babysitters, police or parents. You are all adults and can be told to deal with your own problems. Admins have a right to RP just as much so you can be told you have to wait a bit if they are part of a scene

Rezzing: Please pick up your clutter;  After you've finished using a vehicle or temporary prop for a scene, please pick them up. This can help to reduce lag on the sims for everyone.

Adult Actions: Please remember that this is an adult sim, so if you don't want to see sex you came to the wrong place. ;)

Linden Lab TOS: Any breach of the Linden Labs TOS is a breach of sim rules. This includes such things as harassment, scamming, and griefing, etc. Violations will result in one warning from an Owner or Admin. Further violations will result in temporary or even a permanent ban. 

Breaking Rules: By wearing your Shadowfall Combat Meter you are considered knowing the Basic Rules, RP Rules, Combat Rules. Violations will result in one warning from an Owner or Admin. Further violations will result in temporary or even a permanent ban. 

Advertising / soliciting: Do not use the sim for advertising or soliciting, along with the group chats and discord chat.  

RP-hooks: Please use the Shadowfall: Nightmare Group chat for your sim-wide RP hooks. You can join this group at the landing point (currently the Welcome Center)

Visiting Shadowfalls: Visitors are welcome and encouraged to explore our sims. As a visitor please be courteous when encountering any ongoing RP's.
