This section introduces guidance from the “Eternal Soka Gakkai Construction Period (2006-2010)” that has not yet been published in book form.

The SGI President's guidance is excerpted and quoted from the Seikyo Shimbun (daily edition). The dates indicate when the guidance was given.

Year 2006

Apr.20 "If you overlook one instance of betrayal, you are bound to be betrayed again. This is history's lesson. Base efforts to disrupt the harmonious unity of believers by ingrates who have abandoned their faith constitute a grave offense in Buddhism. We must not let such actions go unchallenged. We have seen many treacherous backstabbers appear in the past. All of them were cowardly, easily intimidated by the threats of those in power and authority. They were driven by self-interest and readily swayed by the trends of the times. Such leaders are absolutely not to be trusted."

Apr.20 "Base efforts to disrupt the harmonious unity of believers by ingrates who have abandoned their faith constitute a grave offense in Buddhism. We must not let such actions go unchallenged."

Apr.20 "We have seen many treacherous backstabbers appear in the past. All of them were cowardly, easily intimidated by the threats of those in power and authority. They were driven by self-interest and readily swayed by the trends of the times. Such leaders are absolutely not to be trusted."

Apr.20 "The only solution is to train new young people and foster them well."

Apr.20 "I have sought to usher in a new age for the Soka Gakkai out of the desire to raise as many youth as possible who possess pure faith and the spirit to fight courageously against injustice and wrongdoing."

Apr.20 " In a similar vein, Mr. Toda said, 'Youth, keep a sharp watch on government! ' The people, ordinary citizens, need to speak out intelligently and courageously. There is something insidious about power. If we allow it to go unchecked, and as a result the people are made to suffer, then we are going against Mr. Toda's teachings."

Apr.20 "In one segment, we took up the subject of the four great teachers of humanity-Shakyamuni, Confucius, Socrates and Jesus. All four were subjected to fierce criticism and persecution by their contemporaries. Their lives were a series of adversities. ...Why, then, in spite of this, are these figures revered by the people of later times? Because their disciples tenaciously fought for and promoted their teachings. That was one of the conclusions Dr. Tu and I arrived at in our discussion. Mr. Toda fought tirelessly for his mentor, Mr. Makiguchi, and promoted his ideas. I did the same for my mentor, Mr. Toda. This is what it means to be a true disciple. What matters are not titles or position but rather having a fighting spirit and taking action. Those who possess these qualities are truly admirable. I want all of you to be genuine disciples. The honor of dedicating one's life to the path of mentor and disciple shines forever. This is the essence of Nichiren Buddhism and the Mystic Law."

Apr.20 "Moral and upright teachers who champion a lofty cause invariably face attack and persecution. Mr. Makiguchi was persecuted, Mr. Toda was persecuted, and so was I. Adversity clearly separates the true disciples from the false."

Apr.20 "Weak and fainthearted disciples eventually disappear, and only genuine disciples are trained and polished into individuals who embody the same spirit and commitment as their mentor. And these remaining direct disciples then give their lives to the struggle to vindicate their mentor."

Apr.20 "In the light of history, this mighty struggle of mentor and disciple is the key to the endurance of great philosophies and teachings."

2006.05.10 万代にわたる創価の盤石な礎（いしずえ）を、三代で築き上げることは、私にとって、戸田先生との誓願の成就であり、報恩の遂行（すいこう）である。 目指すは創立８０周年。 希望輝く目標に向かって、世界広布の「新しい陣列」を築いてまいりたい（大拍手）。

2006.06.04 忘恩は傲慢から生まれる

Jun.04 "Mr. Toda warned that internal enemies are more dangerous than external foes. 'The Gakkai can only be destroyed from within. Be on your guard! ' and 'From now on, the Gakkai should remove any corrupt leaders, ' he sternly advised."

2006.06.22 厳粛な師弟の精神を軽く見るような慢心の幹部が出たならば、絶対に放置してはいけない

Jun.27 "The moment we lose our seeking spirit and succumb to arrogance, we immediately begin to sink into decline."

Jun.27 "Those who boast of high education, worldly fame, power and position in particular tend to succumb to ingratitude."

Jun.27 "Our enemies are not external, he warns; Buddhism can only be destroyed from within. It is an unchanging truth that traitors always appear from within. We must never ever condone the behavior of cowardly individuals who betray the trust of their fellow members in faith."

Jun.27 "People who lack gratitude eventually sink into misery. Their lives end in a truly pitiful manner."

Jun.27 "By ' the mind of the two vehicles ', he means the tendency to forget about helping others and instead be preoccupied with only one's own benefit. Such self-absorption prevents people from repaying gratitude and is therefore an even graver offense than committing the ten evil acts or the five cardinal sins, an offense that blocks them from attaining enlightenment."

Jul.08 "He (Chinese writer Ba Jin) also pointed out that it is actually those being duped who feed and contribute to the growth of these reprehensible liars. What we need to do, therefore, he said, is shout "Open your eyes!" at those being deceived by them."

Jul.11 "The 80th anniversary of the Soka Gakkai's founding is approaching (in 2010), and the 60th anniversary of the young men's division is not far behind (in 2011). Let us triumph brilliantly in these next five golden years, making them worth a hundred."

2006.08.06 『こうした悪い人間は、絶対に広宣流布の本陣の中に入れてはならない。悪い人間は、断固、叩き出すことだ』

2006.08.06 『万が一にも、そうした悪党をのさばらせてしまえば、清浄無比なる学会の和合僧が毒され、撹乱されてしまう。ゆえに、鋭く見破り、責め抜いていかねばならない。』

2006.08.07 創価学会は、学会員のためにある。ゆえに最高幹部は、学会員の〝僕〟として、全力で動くことだ

2006.08.07 大切な会員のために、真剣に祈り、守り抜く。その姿勢を忘れたならば、もはや、リーダー失格である

2006.08.07 いかなる組織であれ、権力は腐敗するものだ。そのときは、民衆が悪を正し、叫ばねばならない。戦わねばならない

2006.08.18 人間の嫉妬心が社会を濁らせ、私利私欲の指導者が国を衰亡させる。これが、古今東西に変わらぬ歴史の法則である。青年は敏感に反応し、正義の太陽を昇らせねばならない。悪と戦わなければ、学会ではない

2006.08.21 組織を内から腐らせる『師子身中の虫』は、形式主義、油断、停滞の空気の中で、はびこっていく

2006.09.07 "I am looking for people who can prove the Tightness of this great path. I wish to foster and train such people. The future depends on the presence and continued emergence of such people. Youth, I'm counting on you!"

2006.09.07 "Mr. Toda also said: 'Never allow ungrateful elected representatives to harm or disturb our noble organization. Banish such scoundrels from the Gakkai, the most harmonious assembly of believers in the world. Confront them directly, admonish them for their actions, and put a swift end to their arrogance! ' This was his solemn injunction to us."

2006.09.07 "I call on the youth division to rise up and take action against any corrupt and arrogant individuals who may appear in our midst. Rally together in solid unity and valiantly defend our noble citadel of the people." 

2006.09.07 "Never remain silent in the face of corruption or wrongdoing. You need to speak out resolutely and denounce such behavior."

2006.09.22 為政者は、民衆によって支えられている。ゆえに、民衆を心から尊敬し、民衆の幸福のために尽くすのが当然である

2006.10.25 幹部のための学会ではない。会員のための学会である

2006.10.25 師匠の教えを、すべて実践に生かす。師匠の言葉を、一言一句たりとも無駄にしない。それが、本物の弟子である

2006.10.25 そのためにも、おかしな幹部がいれば、皆で声をあげていくのである。『学会の指導と違うではないか！』『師匠の言っていることに反しているではないか！』と。そうやって皆が強く叱咤・激励して、立派な指導者をつくっていけばいいのだ。『下』から『上』を動かしていけ！ ── それが牧口先生のご指導であった

2006.10.28 全員が偉大なる広宣流布の同志である。我々には何一つ、差別はないのである

2006.11.10 "Should that spirit wane over time, the Soka Gakkai would be seriously imperiled. I say this for the sake of the future."

2006.11.10 Nov/10/2006 "Those who do not despise hypocrisy are hypocrites themselves. People of justice are outraged by injustice and fight against it -- this is something that Mr. Toda would often say. This is the Gakkai spirit."

2006.11.18 戦時中、軍部権力によって学会は弾圧を受け、多くの最高幹部が投獄された。牧口先生は、最後まで信念を貫かれて獄死。戸田先生は２年間の獄中闘争を戦い抜かれた。だが、牧口先生、戸田先生以外は、次々と退転してしまった。...大切なのは〝奥底の一念〟である。心の奥の奥で何を考えているかだ。本当に師匠のため、学会のために戦おうと決めているのか。表面だけ繕って、結局は自分のことだけを考えているのか。 その差は、あまりにも大きい

2006.11.18 戸田先生は“こいつは師匠を裏切った！ 学会を裏切った！”と言われ、絶対に許そうとはしなかった。それはそれは、すさまじい怒りだった。時には『そこまでしなくても』というほどまで、徹底してその裏切りを責め抜かれた。これが本当の慈悲なのだ──先生は、そう語っておられた。また戦後も、最高幹部でありながら信心を忘れ、ついには反逆した人間が出た。“こんな輩を放っておいたら、学会は大変なことになる！”──戸田先生は、そう叫ばれて、断固として糾弾された

2006.11.18 その後、第1次宗門事件の時にも、嫉妬に狂い、大恩ある同志を裏切って学会に弓を引く人間が現れた。卑劣なデマを垂れ流し、尊き学会の師弟の絆を分断しようと画策した悪人がいた。その罪は重大である。残念ながら、こうした悪を見て見ぬふりをして、傍観を決め込む幹部もいた

2006.11.22 そんな権威主義の学会になってしまったら、大変だ　学会員に申し訳がない

2006.11.22 傲慢から転落が始まる。かつて大恩ある学会に反逆した人間の多くも、『自分が一番偉い』と傲り高ぶっていた

2006.12.22 "From here on out, I will give my all to solidifying the foundation of kosen-rufu so that it will endure for countless generations to come. So much work yet remains to be done in Japan and around the globe."

2006.12.22 "Those former top leaders who have betrayed the Soka Gakkai in recent years can be described as people with deep-seated worldly desires and an intense longing for status and recognition. Even when such people say something that seems reasonable, the actual content of their message is harmful and distorts the truth. Their acts are a huge hindrance to kosen-rufu. Who is a true mentor, and who is a true disciple? That's the crucial question. Buddhism is about reality; it is not abstract theory. The path of mentor and disciple is to carry out kosen-rufu in the real world. This path is embodied by the first three Soka Gakkai presidents. These three generations of mentors and disciples have made worldwide kosen-rufu possible. Not even an outstanding teaching will spread if there is no one to propagate it. A mentor is essential. The mentor-disciple relationship is the foundation. In all things, it is vital to wisely choose whom to follow. In the secular world as well, if people follow corrupt and dishonest leaders, they will be led into misfortune. This is an undeniable principle, and it applies equally to Buddhism. Anyone who strays from the path of mentor and disciple dedicated to kosen-rufu and acts to destroy the teachings of Buddhism will fall into a wretched state of endless suffering, no matter how much they may have once practiced faith or how many people they may have previously introduced to the practice. I declare this solemn truth for the sake of future generations."

2006.12.22 "This was brought about by an ugly conspiracy between envious priests and treacherous former top Soka Gakkai leaders, as you all know".

2006.12.22 "It's very important to firmly and thoroughly repudiate people who seek to harm our organization; otherwise, the Soka Gakkai runs the risk of being destroyed by them in the future. You mustn't allow that to happen."

2006.12.22 "Buddhism is about reality; it is not abstract theory. The path of mentor and disciple is to carry out kosen-rufu in the real world. ... In the secular world as well, if people follow corrupt and dishonest leaders, they will be led into misfortune. This is an undeniable principle, and it applies equally to Buddhism. ... 2006.12.24 自分が中心なのか。師匠が根本なのか。この一点が狂うと、すべてが狂ってくる

2006.12.24 幹部に格好や気取りがあれば、いい学会にはならない。幹部が自己中心であれば、師弟が壊されてしまう

2006.12.24 『破和合僧』を犯す敵は、内部から出る

2006.12.24 師弟を忘れ、師恩を仇で返し、真の弟子の道を見失えば、そこから『破和僧』が起こる

2006.12.24 破和合僧は、貪嫉の心から起こる

2006.12.24 貪りの心、名聞を求める心、嫉妬心のゆえに和合僧を破壊する

2006.12.24 師弟を忘れ、師恩を仇で返し、真の弟子の道を見失えば、そこから『破和合僧』が起こる。『破和合僧』を犯す敵は、内部から出るのである

2006.12.24 この三代の会長に脈打つ師弟の精神を、絶対にあいまいにしてはならない。おろそかにしてはならない。師弟を失えば、学会は崩れる。幹部が生意気になったり、いい気になって、峻厳なる三代会長の精神を失えば、学会は壊れてしまう。それは仏法の破壊に通じる

2006.12.24 まず最高幹部が、広布の最前線に飛び込み、一兵卒として、泥まみれになって戦うのだ。自分が中心なのか。師匠が根本なのか。この一点が狂うと、すべてが狂ってくる

2006.12.24 これまで、三代の会長が、同志の皆さまとともに死にもの狂いでつくりあげてきた学会を、絶対に壊されてはならない

2006.12.24 重要な責任のある大幹部に対して、どんどん下から意見を言い、正すべきことは正していくことだ。言うべき時に黙っていてはいけない

2006.12.24 『悪人がのさばると、毒を流される。ゆえに悪人は、清浄な和合僧の学会の世界から去ってもらった方が、全く嬉しい。そういう連中は、追放することが、最良の方策だ』

2006.12.24 悪人を断じて許すな！ 広布破壌の人間は叩き出せ！──これが恩師の厳命であった

2006.12.24 『師匠』を守り、『学会』を守り、『同志』を守り抜くとの熱い心が、赤々と燃え上がっているかぎり、学会は断じて勝ち栄えていく

Year 2007

2007.01.24 戸田先生は遺言された。『悪い枝は切っておかないと、必ず乱される。悪人は、厳しく追放せよ』...後世のために、明快に言い残しておきたい

2007.01.24 本当に悪い人間は、『このままではかわいそうだ』『何とか立ち直らせたい』という慈悲からの忠告にも、かえって反発し、信心の世界を食い破り続けていくものだ

2007.01.24 そういう人間には、安い情けは無用である。断固として追放し、清浄な学会の組織を護っていくべきである

2007.01.30 愚かな『慢心』は、師匠の恩を忘れ去った『忘恩』の裏返しである

2007.01.30 『慢』は、自身の生命を破るだけでなく、他者の生命をも破壊する

2007.01.30 慢心に囚われれば、成長は止まる。いな『進まざるは退転』であり、堕落が始まる

2007.01.30 さらに慢心は、同志や後輩を苦しめ、その前進を妨げる

2007.01.30 ついには和合僧を破壊する

2007.01.30 いかなる迫害や弾圧があっても、『心』が屈しなけれぼ、破れることはない。しかし、悪知識は『心』そのものを破る

2007.01.30 『心』が破壊されれば、もはや仏法の命脈は断絶してしまう

2007.01.30 この『心』の世界を破る仏法破壊の魔性の生命が「増上慢」である。だからこそ、仏法者は、増上慢と戦わなければならない

2007.02.21 "The future of the Soka Gakkai rests upon whether we can achieve a leadership revolution and establish a solid tradition of fostering leaders committed to serving the people. On the whole, Soka Gakkai members are good-hearted and forgiving. Because they are accepting and supportive of the leadership, leaders must be careful never to abuse the members' trust. A genuine leader is someone recognized even by people outside the Soka Gakkai as a fine and admirable individual. In particular, we need to direct our focus toward the youth division. Mr. Toda always said that the Soka Gakkai exists for the youth, and he entrusted to them the organization's future. Now, I, too, feel exactly the same."

2007.02.27 「牧口先生には、真剣に仕えた戸田先生がいた。戸田先生には、真剣に仕えた私がいた。この師弟の心を、だれが本当にわかってくれるだろうか。師の仕事を、たとえ億万分の一でも、担い立とうとする人がいるだろうか。創価の魂を継ぐ、“本物の弟子”が出てくるまで、私は断じて生き抜かねばならない──今、そのように思っている

2007.02.27 臆病な幹部たちが、反逆者の謀略に惑わされ、学会精神を失っていったあの時──

2007.05.08 悪は放置すれば増長する。皆、だまされてしまう。悪人と戦わなければ、学会が破壊されてしまうのだ。『破邪顕正』といっても、あくまで『破邪』が先である。まず悪と戦い、悪を打ち破るのだ。それでこそ『顕正』がある。悪を倒してこそ、初めて正義を明らかにし、宣揚することができるのである。『破邪』が根本であり、その次が『顕正』だ。この方程式を、深く胸に刻んでいただきたい

2007.05.08 仏法の根本は『師弟』だ。真実の弟子であるならば、師匠のために体を張ってでも戦うのだ。師の勝利を祈り抜いていくのだ。それを、敵に対して本気になって戦わない。見て見ないふりをする。そんな情けない弟子、ずるい人間であっては絶対にならない。大きく心を開いて、本当の高次元な創価学会の精神に立って戦うことだ。『師弟不二』で戦いきることだ。『師弟』がなくなったら、学会は壊されてしまう

2007.05.24 "Mr. Toda bluntly declared: 'Oust traitors and betrayers from the Gakkai, the most harmonious body of believers in the world! Denounce the errors of their ways head-on and demolish their overbearing arrogance! '"

2007.05.24 "We need leaders who will humbly and sincerely serve the members. Serving the members is the essence of Gakkai leadership positions. Everything done for the sake of members is a service performed for kosen-rufu. Mr. Toda often declared: 'The members are my whole life! ' and 'Never spare any effort for the members, who are working so hard for kosen-rufu!' These words resound as final injunctions."

2007.05.24 "In particular, he asserted that leaders who fail to fight against wrongdoing should be shown the door. Let's engrave these words in our hearts."

2007.05.24 "Self-serving leaders who exploit the members or the Gakkai should not be permitted to remain in leadership positions. Nor do we need leaders who become arrogant once they rise to a high position. We need leaders who will humbly and sincerely serve the members."

2007.06.14 日蓮大聖人の御在世にあって、退転し反逆していった者の本質は、虚栄であり、増上慢であり、欲張りであり、臆病であった

2007.06.14 "慢心、虚栄、自分勝手、名聞名利といったエゴや破壊の生命は、時として、『恩知らず』の形となって表れる"

2007.08.05 将来…学会を利用されたり、威張られたりしては、絶対にならない

2007.08.06 この歴史の教訓を、青年部は、断じて忘れてはならない。繰り返してはならない

2007.08.06 かつての最高幹部のなかには、嵐の時に戦わないどころか、敵と結託して、私を陥れようとした反逆者もいた

2007.08.06 ５月３日、創価大学で、会長辞任の本部総会を終えた後、私は、そのまま神奈川文化会館へ向かった。学会本部には、私の指揮を執るべき席はなかったからである。時として、小さな管理者室で執務することもあった。それほど冷たい執行部だった。

2007.08.06 迫害の構図を鋭く見抜くのだ。そこに渦巻くのは嫉妬であり、慢心であり、私利私欲である

2007.08.06 『第３代は、一生涯、会長として指揮を執れ！ 第３代が、一生涯、会長として指揮を執ることこそが、創価学会の常勝の道である』第３代会長を、皆で一生涯、護れば、必ず広宣流布できる──これは、執行部が、皆、戸田先生から厳命された遺誡であった

2007.08.11 『師匠が弟子を決める』のではない。『弟子が師匠を決める』のである。これは、わかっているようで、難しいことだ。師匠の正義を満天下に示すには、弟子が結果を出す以外にない

2007.08.15 ずる賢く苦労を避け、信心を失い、堕落する幹部が出たならば、皆で峻厳に戒めていくことだ。そうでなければ、どこまで傲慢になるか。仏子が食い物にされるか。断じて許してはならない

2007.08.19 "If this foundational spirit crumbles, even top Gakkai leaders can be defeated by devilish influences and grow corrupt. If that happens, they are bound to receive negative effects. The workings of the Buddhist law of cause and effect are strict."

2007.08.23 この三代にわたる大闘争を通して、創価の永遠の軌道は完璧に築かれたことを、私は、戸田先生の直弟子として、晴れ晴れと宣言しておきたい

2007.08.28 広布の戦いに、全部、勝てるように、そしてまた、皆が喜んで戦い、勝っていけるように、しっかり祈って、名指揮を執っていただきたい。祈って祈って祈り抜いて、語って語って語り抜いて、礼を踏み、誠意を尽くし抜いていくのだ。気取りがあってはならない。師匠のため一心不乱に戦い、身を粉にして同志に尽くしてこそ、本物の弟子である。皆からよく見られようとお世辞を使ったり、人気取りに走るのは、本物ではない。それは見栄である。その点、戸田先生は、本当に厳しかった。要領があってはならない。ずるい幹部ではいけない

2007.09.06 『会員が喜び、希望に燃えるように、指導できる幹部になれ！』

2007.09.06 "Ingratitude is the start of decline and corruption. Ingratitude turns people into beasts."

2007.09.28 学会創立８０周年にあたる２０１０年を、一つの目標として、新しい陣列を築きたい。ともに総仕上げをしてまいりたい

2007.09.28 悪人に誑（たぶら）かされた、愚かな最高幹部もいた

2007.10.12 he said, "As president, I stood in their way and was thwarting their plans, so they came up with the idea of forcing me to resign".

2007.10.12 "Truly, nothing is more frightening than arrogance and envy. They are the most destructive of all poisons."

2007.10.12 『広宣流布の行動をしているように見えながら、すべて自分自身の利害のために動いている人間は、私の敵である』

2007.10.12 "We must not condone leaders who are motivated by self-interest and exploit the organization, or individuals who having reached important positions through the support and hard work of the members, then become arrogant and exploit their positions for personal gain. They are enemies of Buddhism, and their transgressions must be taken very seriously and strongly denounced."

2007.10.12 " When top leaders use age as an excuse and stop working on the front lines, becoming more concerned about their own comfort than the welfare of members, they are no longer qualified to lead. Those in top leadership positions need to strive alongside the members as their comrades and equals."

2007.10.30 おかしいと思うことがあれば、正していくことだ

2007.10.30 贅沢に慣れた特権階層は、ひとたび味わった享楽や利益を手放さず、内部の改革が進まなかった。“上”が堕落し、享楽にふける──そうなったら危ない。これまで学会の大幹部の中にも、学会を利用して金儲けをたくらんだり、堕落した生活を送って退転し、ついには反逆していった人間がいた。そうした人間を出してはならないし、許してもならない

2007.11.06 幹部は学会員の『上』に立つのでは断じてない。皆の『下』になるのだ。大事なのは、一生懸命、学会員のために尽くす『心』である

There were self-serving individuals who cunningly avoided having to put themselves on the line. They strutted about self-importantly and sat back enjoying themselves while everyone else worked hard. They were devious and sneaky and exploited the noble Soka Gakkai for their own ends. I fought resolutely against all such thankless individuals. If we don't vanquish such 'worms within the lion's body' in the future as well, our sincere, dedicated members will only suffer. We must be certain not to allow this to happen. Those who work selflessly for the welfare of others are the true disciples."

It's perilous to be deceived or led astray by such individuals. Resorting to scheming and intrigue and trying to manipulate others is monstrous behavior."

2008.04.23 "And when leaders in society forget to appreciate and be grateful to the people, they invariably grow arrogant and begin to go off course. Mr. Toda declared: 'Ingratitude is the origin of devilish functions. Ingratitude is the start of decline and corruption. Ingratitude turns people into thoughtless beasts. 2008.05.27 学会のため、広宣流布のため、会員のために、どれだけ働いたのか──この一点こそが、その人の偉さを決める。幹部だから偉いのではない

2008.06.07 " But this vindication, this revenge, would not be a personal vendetta or a vengeance gained through bloodshed; it would be a battle against the devilish nature of authority, which was responsible for the persecution and subsequent death of his mentor and had forced so many people into the depths of suffering. Additionally, this vindication would be an awakening of the people from oppression, empowering them, bringing them together in solidarity and working with them to build a society of true peace and happiness. All of this is encompassed in our activities for kosen-rufu."

2008.06.18 "At the time of my resignation from the presidency, I was surrounded by enemies, people who were envious of me and wanted to cause my downfall. There were all sorts of unscrupulous plots unfolding. There were even individuals who betrayed their mentor and the Soka Gakkai out of personal ambition and self-interest."

We mustn't allow such people to even come near our organization.' Be vigilant about corrupt and unscrupulous people and keep them at bay -- that was Mr. Toda's message.

I, in turn, vindicated Mr. Toda by spreading the supreme philosophy of peace of the Mystic Law throughout the entire world. Demonstrating the integrity of one's mentors -- this is the noble tradition of Soka disciples."

2008.08.05 格好ばかりの“同志”は必要ないのである。戦うべき時には、堂々と悪を弾劾するのだ。いざという時に戦えない、保身と増上慢の“才能ある畜生”になってはならない。皆、「いい人生」を送ってほしい。

2008.08.09 師弟の道には、少しの“疵”もあってはならない。どんなに一生懸命、戦ったとしても、毛筋ほども慢心があれば、もはや、それは「不二」ではない。師弟とは、それほど峻厳な世界である

2008.12.02 大幹部の中には、大恩ある学会を裏切り、かえって仇をなす人間が出た。私が苦しむのを見て、陰で喜ぶ人間もいた

2009.01.08 "Treacherous, self-serving individuals who lose their faith and are ruled by jealousy and blinded by ambition -- people whom the sutras describe as 'worms within the lion's body' -- seek to sever the bonds of mentor and disciple. People of overbearing arrogance are the ones who try to destroy Buddhism. This is an important lesson we must always remember."

2009.01.08 "Mr. Makiguchi, as I said earlier, died in prison. But his devoted disciple, Mr. Toda, survived the ordeal behind bars. He gained his release in July 1945, just a few weeks before the war's end. Amid the charred ruins of bombed-out Tokyo, Mr. Toda rose up alone with firm resolve, pledging deep in his heart to vindicate his mentor by carrying on his aims and building a peaceful society."

2009.01.08 "No matter what fine appearances the crooked and corrupt may present to the world, their true nature is ultimately vile and base. They are devious, grasping and self-serving. Don't be deceived by them. You need to see them and their underhanded schemes for what they are."

2009.01.27 こうした提婆達多のごとき嫉妬の輩、忘恩の輩、畜生の輩が出たならば、絶対にだまされてはいけない。臆病になって、付き従ってはならない。皆、賢明にならなければならない。鋭き信心の眼で、魔を魔と見破り、断固と責め抜いていくのだ。将来のために、強く申し上げておきたい

2009.01.27 『妬み』は、人の心を狂わせる。『破壊』の心を生む。他者の心も破壊し、自分自身も破壊してしまう。恐ろしい感情である

2009.02.11 "Having now passed the age of 80, I wish to share with you as a record for posterity the essence of the life and teachings of Mr. Makiguchi and Mr. Toda, and the essence of the Daishonin's Buddhism. Please carry on the noble Soka tradition of mentor and disciple."

2009.02.11 "He warned against passivity, hypocrisy, slander, divisiveness, ingratitude, and betrayal, which undermined the fabric of society. Those who brought disgrace on the good deserved nothing but dishonor themselves —- this was Dante's impassioned cry. ... I also stood up resolutely to those who defamed and insulted Mr. Toda. Having chosen him as my mentor, I had decided deep in my heart to serve and support him faithfully. One cannot be called a genuine disciple or Gakkai member if one turns a blind eye to injustice and refuses to fight for what is right. I would like all of you, our leaders of this new era, to burn with a passionate fighting spirit like Dante, clearly discerning the difference between truth and falsehood, right and wrong."

2009.02.11 "Nothing is more irrational than bringing discredit on those who have done good. A society will fall into chaos and disorder if such behavior becomes widespread."

A stern fate awaits the corrupt and degenerate. Those who look on silently and pretend not to see wrongdoing when it is being committed will regret their inaction forever."

2009.04.14 本気になって学会のため、正義のために戦う人間はいないのか。真実の味方はいないのか――。あまりにも情けない無残な姿であった。本当に、人間の心ほど恐ろしいものはない

2009.04.14 私は、会長として指揮を執ることはできなくなった。しかし私は、牧口先生、そして戸田先生が命を懸けてつくられた学会だけは絶対に守らねばならないと、深く決意をしていた。私とともに戦ってくださった、多くの真実の同志を守り抜こうと心に決めていた。少しでも長生きをして、もう一度、本当の学会をつくり、未来に残すのだ。その思いで立ち上がり、ここまで頑張ってきた

2009.04.14 仏法は、いかなる宿命をも転換できる、幸福の大法である。生命を根底から変革する力がある。民衆のための仏法である。ゆえに、人々を意のままに操り、欲望を恣にしようとする『権力の魔性』からは、激しい反発を受ける。正義の人が立てば、それを妬む邪悪な人間が出る

2009.04.14 "広布を破壊する、提婆のごとき増上慢の人間とは、断じて永遠に戦い抜くのだ。イギリスの哲学者、J･S･ミルは『だれが責任をとるのかを、だれも知らないときには、責任は存在しない』 万事において、責任を明確にして前進していくことだ"

2009.04.14 "誰かがやるだろう。何とかなるだろう―そんな無責任で、臆病な人間になってはならない。民衆がいじめられ、正義が踏みにじられているのに、何も言わない。叫ばない― そんな卑怯な人間に、絶対になってはならない"

2009.04.14 仏法は勝負だ。仏と魔の闘争である。勝つか負けるか、どちらかしかない。ゆえに青年は、心を磨き、頭を鍛え、勝ち抜く力をつけるのだ。『本物の弟子よ、出でよ！』こう私は声を大にして叫びたい

2009.04.22 "Only when wrongs are denounced and truth and justice triumph can we possibly protect the happiness and welfare of the people and make true peace a reality. Let's work hard to make this happen! Like lions! "

2009.09.22 師匠に対する裏切り者を、絶対に許さない。弟子が団結し、師匠を永遠に守る。師に反逆した者、師をいじめた者を、断じて倒す。私は、この学会精神を忘れてはならないと、強く申し上げておきたい

2009.11.27 要の人間が愚かであれは、虚偽や無責任がはびこり、人材も伸びない
