Walloon is located on the Rosewood line and it is served by all train services travelling from Rosewood to Ipswich with some peak hour services to Bowen Hills, Caboolture and Nambour. Walloon is located 47.8 km from Roma Street and the approximate travel time is 12 minutes to Ipswich and 1 hour and 9 minutes from Roma Street.

Walloon station opened in 1865 when the line from Ipswich to Bigges Camp, now Granchester opened. In 1913, the line was duplicated through the station from Wulkuraka to Grandchester. In 1993, the line was electrified to Rosewood from Ipswich and the station was rebuilt.
Walloon serves the homonymous suburb of Walloon which was named after the southern Belgium area of Walloonia.
Walloon station itself has two platforms consisting of two side platforms. Platform 1 is for inbound services and platform 2 is for outbound services. Along with all the other stations on the Rosewood line, the platforms at Walloon are only long enough to fit three carriages.
Walloon station has one station entrance from Station Lane.
Walloon station does have disability access however assistance is required due to the level crossing.
