History

Thomas Street station opened in the 1876. In 1902, the line was duplicated from Wulkuraka from Ipswich. In 1993, the line was electrified to Rosewood from Ipswich and in the same year the Brisbane Valley Railway closed.

Thomas Street was named after the street in the area with the same name.

Platforms

Thomas Street station itself has two platforms consisting of two side platforms. Platform 1 is for inbound services and platform 2 is for outbound services. Along with all the other stations on the Rosewood line, the platforms at Thomas Street are only long enough to fit three carriages.
