Narangba station opened in 1888 at the same time as the line as Sidling Creek being renamed shortly after. In 1917, the line was duplicated from Northgate to Caboolture. On 28 June 1986, the line was electrified between Petrie and Caboolture which resulted in the line being realligned between Petrie and Narangba. In 2013, the station was upgraded which included a new footbridge and lifts.
Narangba station serves the homonymous suburb of Narangba obtaining its name from the local Aboriginal word referring to green wattle.
Narangba station itself has three platforms consisting of three side platforms. Platform 1 is for inbound services, platform 3 is for outbound services and platform 2 is a spare platform.
Narangba station has two station entrances, one is in the carpark on Burpengary Road and the other is the carpark on Main Street.
Narangba station does have disability access.
There are bus interchange in the carpark on Main Street serving nearby suburbs. The routes that serve Narangba are routes 663 and 668.
