Dakabin station opened in 1913. It was planned to be the junction of the Redcliffe Peninsula line until it was later decided to be Petrie. The line was duplicated through the station from Northgate to Caboolture in 1917. On 28 June 1986, the line was electrified from Petrie to Caboolture which resulted in the line being realligned between Petrie and Narangba. In 2012, the Dakabin Station Action Group was founded to lobby for an upgrade to the station for wheelchair access and better parking and Dakabin station is now being upgraded.
