1. Participate in an SCPS Orientation
SCPS orientations are an important first touchpoint for new students. Ambassadors help welcome students, answer questions, and share insights about navigating Loyola as an adult learner. You can participate in orientation in the following ways:
Ambassador Discussion Groups (Need 10–20 Ambassadors)
New students will be placed in breakout rooms with 2–3 Ambassadors for 35 minutes. Ambassadors will host the discussion (no staff or faculty in these rooms). Talking points will be provided, and you’ll also have flexibility to share your experience as an SCPS student.
The Loyola Experience: Your Rambler Journey (Need 4–6 Ambassadors)
This session introduces Your Rambler Journey—Loyola’s framework for student growth across five Jesuit ideals. Ambassadors share short reflections from their own experience as Loyola students (coursework, resources, connections with classmates, service, and reflection).
Panel Discussion (Need 3 Ambassadors)
Panelists provide input on topics related to the student experience (e.g., time management, online learning environment, etc.).
Raffle (Need 5–10 Ambassadors)
New students will send an introduction email to an Ambassador before the afternoon session (a staff member will be CC’d). The Ambassador replies to welcome the student and/or respond to items in the email. Emails will be sent during the 10-minute break so winners can be announced at the end of orientation.
Check Out with New Admits (10 minutes)
At the end of orientation, new admits will be placed in peer breakout rooms to exchange contact information. Ambassadors will join rooms to answer final questions for about 10 minutes.
Chat (All hands on deck)
All attending Ambassadors are asked to engage with new students in the chat throughout orientation—answer questions as they arise and proactively share your story in relation to the presentations.

2. Participate in an SCPS Recruitment Event
Recruitment events provide prospective students with the opportunity to hear directly from current SCPS students. Your perspective helps prospective students understand what it is like to return to school and succeed in the program.
The volunteer form helps us identify which Ambassadors have an interest in participating in a recruitment event: Volunteer Form: Participate in a Recruitment Event
3. Support New Students in the Ambassador Introductions Forum
Ambassadors support new students by contributing to discussion forums in the SCPS Resources site. Even a single thoughtful response can help ease anxiety and provide clarity for someone starting their Loyola journey. This forum is often one of the first peer interactions new students experience in SCPS.
The volunteer form helps us identify which Ambassadors can commit to answering replies during the three-week lead-in to a specific session start so new students receive timely peer support: Volunteer Form: Support the Discussion Forum
4. Participate in an Additional Ambassador Activity
Ambassadors may complete one additional approved activity that supports SCPS outreach, engagement, or community building. The opportunities below are common ways to participate, though additional opportunities may arise throughout the year. When they do, SCPS staff will reach out with details and you may participate as your availability allows.
Engage on SCPS Social Channels
Ambassadors can also support SCPS by engaging with our social media presence. This may include sharing your experience as an SCPS student, tagging SCPS in your posts, or commenting on SCPS content. These interactions help amplify the authentic student voice and strengthen our community online. SCPS social channels include:
Be a Rambler Rally Advocate
Rambler Rally is Loyola’s annual day of giving that brings the Loyola community together to support students and programs across the university. Ambassadors can participate by helping amplify the campaign—sharing messages with their networks, encouraging participation, and celebrating the impact of Loyola’s mission-driven community.
