Spring 2027 registration will be available for all students on November 13th at 9AM (CST). Check your individual enrollment date and time in LOCUS.
Before selecting your courses, review your Academic Requirements Report (ARR), the Spring 2027 Course Schedule, and the SCPS Course Rotation Schedules. Then review the updates below that apply to your program.
These updates include important course substitutions, course sequencing recommendations, and elective opportunities. Questions about your course plan? Contact SCPSAdvising@luc.edu.
If your ARR indicates that you still need UCWR 110, email SCPSAdvising@luc.edu to request enrollment access. The Dean’s Office must arrange access before you can register for this course.
CPST 397 is a 16-week course that must be completed during your final semester. It includes required synchronous meetings that may conflict with other courses with scheduled class meetings. Whenever possible, complete major courses with required synchronous meetings before your final semester. Taking asynchronous courses alongside capstone can help reduce scheduling conflicts.
Use the Course Rotation Schedules to identify courses that typically include synchronous meetings. Check the semester course schedule for actual meeting dates and times, which may vary by semester.
If you plan to take CPST 397 in Fall 2027 and have not yet completed CPST 201: Civic Identity and Development, you must complete CPST 201 in Summer 2027. CPST 201 is not offered during the spring semester.
If you cannot complete CPST 201 in Summer 2027, plan to take it in Fall 2027 and complete CPST 397 in Spring 2028. Contact SCPSAdvising@luc.edu if you need help planning this sequence.
Spring 2027 will be the final offering of PSYC 338. If you still need this requirement, complete it this spring. Students who cannot complete PSYC 338 in Spring 2027 will have PSYC 273 available as a substitute in future semesters.
CPST 260 may satisfy the organizational psychology track requirement of CPST 380. If you have already completed CPST 380, you may take CPST 260 as a general elective if you have remaining general elective requirements.
CPST 260 may satisfy the major requirement of CPST 247. If you have already completed CPST 247, you may take CPST 260 as a general elective if you have remaining general elective requirements.
CPST 340 will no longer be scheduled. If you still need this requirement, you may take CPST 365: Special Topics — Marketing in a Digital Age as a substitute. When selecting your course, check the topic title. The substitution listed here is "Marketing in a Digital Age."
CPST 260 may satisfy the major requirement of CPST 325. If you have already completed CPST 325, you may take CPST 260 as a general elective if you have remaining general elective requirements.
If you plan to complete CPST 397 Capstone in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028, prioritize the following courses in Spring 2027 if these requirements remain:
CPST 335: Law & Regulations-Org. Leaders
CPST 371: Organizational Finance
Both courses have required synchronous meetings that may conflict with capstone. Completing them before your final semester can help prevent scheduling conflicts.
CPST 260 may satisfy the major requirement of CPST 247. If you have already completed CPST 247, you may take CPST 260 as a general elective if you have remaining general elective requirements.
CPST 340 is no longer offered. If you still need this requirement, you may take CPST 365: Special Topics — Marketing in a Digital Age as a substitute. When selecting your course, confirm the topic title is "Marketing in a Digital Age."
Many PLST courses include required synchronous meetings that may conflict with CPST 397 Capstone. Whenever possible, complete major courses with scheduled meetings before your final 16-week semester.
If you expect to have Paralegal Studies major requirements remaining during your final semester, the following courses may be options to take alongside CPST 397:
Spring capstone semester: PLST 339, PLST 342, and PLST 370.
Fall capstone semester: PLST 339, PLST 342, and PLST 360.
Check the semester course schedule to confirm course availability and meeting times before registering. Contact SCPSAdvising@luc.edu for help planning which requirements to complete before capstone and which courses may fit alongside it.
CPST 260: Artificial Intelligence in Practice: Tools, Ethics, and Strategy satisfies the major requirement of CPST 325.
CPST 345: Introduction to IT Systems, Networking, and Security satisfies the major requirement of COMM 275.
CPST 383: Cloud Security Strategy and Architecture satisfies the major requirement of CPST 341.
If you have already completed CPST 325, you may take CPST 260 as a general elective if you have remaining general elective requirements.
If your ARR shows remaining general elective requirements, you may select eligible courses you have not already completed and are not using to satisfy another degree requirement. A course used as a substitute for an outstanding major requirement cannot also count toward your general elective requirements.
The following courses may be useful options for students who have remaining general elective requirements.
CPST 365: Special Topics — Strategic Equity and Inclusion
This course is offered as a combined section with graduate-level CPST 465. Undergraduate students should enroll in CPST 365.
CPST 260: Artificial Intelligence in Practice: Tools, Ethics, and Strategy
Eligible students may take CPST 260 as a general elective if they have already satisfied the major requirement for which it serves as a substitute, or if they do not need that substitution.
CPST 265: Special Topics, Finance for All
This one-credit hour, directed study course may be particularly useful if you need only one additional general elective credit hour to complete your degree requirements. Review the Spring 2027 Course Schedule for updated course details.
Graduate students with remaining program elective requirements may select 400- or 500-level graduate courses for which they meet the prerequisites.
After registering, review your ARR to confirm that the course applies toward your program elective requirements. If the course does not appear in the correct section, if you have questions about selection of an elective, or if you encounter difficulty enrolling, contact SCPSAdvising@luc.edu.
CPST 465: Special Topics — Strategic Equity and Inclusion
