Sensory and Fine Motor

For children with sensory processing difficulties, writing can be a challenge. Printing and drawing involve:

• Visual processing when looking at letters and shapes to copy

• Motor integration when physically putting the pencil to the page and creating shapes or letters

• Auditory processing when told verbally what to write or draw

If you expect a child has a challenge with processing information, talk to your in-school team about whether a referral might be appropriate.
