· Graduated cylinders (100mL and 500mL) for all samples

· Sterile conical tubes (15mL) for dilutions

· pH strips for soil

· Filtration equipment

o Prepared plates with BioRad media

o Sterile filters

o Alcohol burner

o Sterile Forceps

Membrane Filtration: Did you remember?

· To verify the sample ID on all the dilutions filtered match the sample ID on the plates?

· To run a negative control?

· To clean the filter holder with alcohol and distilled water before each new sample?

· To make sure the plates do not have bubbles?

· To make sure the forceps are only used on the border of the membrane filter?
