My Process
Came up with a theme and settings for the map (Jungle and ancient tomb)
Created areas in order to slowly introduce mechanics individually.
Layers mechanics introduced through challenges throughout the map in order to utilize all of the mechanics in dynamic and engaging ways.
Added interactive elements to help evoke the theme.
Collected textures that best evoked the theme in order to create an immersive experience for players.
Chose enemies that best fit the theme of the map and strategically placed them in order to create challenges for players or allow them to slowly get used to the level's mechanics and individual characteristics of each enemy.
Strategically planned the flow and pacing of the map in order to deliver the most engaging and fun experience.
