STEM Scholars

Beginning with our walk in January 2022, we fielded a student panel to present to our visitors for the STEM walk. We asked teachers for students who would be comfortable in talking to adults and who could articulate their learning and experiences with STEM in their classes.

We were blown away by the way these students could speak to STEM in their classes, the interdisciplinary units, and be honest with questions or areas of confusion. Their feedback proved invaluable during our planning of the January units.

After this first STEM walk with our STEM Scholars, they were asked to be the keynote speakers at the upcoming Bartow STEM Innovation Academy on March 28^th.

As we were planning for the March STEM walk, these STEM Scholars were looking for the connections between their classes before we ever pulled them in to discuss the upcoming walk. Their teachers have actually reached out to these students to ask clarifying questions as the units were progressing.
