Fall 2019

• 8/28 - Mrs. Bunce attends Bartow County STEM training to begin building capacity for STEM implementation at RTMS

• 9/25 - Selected staff (primarily 6th grade teams) attend STEM-focused sessions during in-county Professional Development day

• 10/20 - 10/22 - Caitlyn Berresford and Gary Boulier attend STEM forum in Athens, Georgia

• 11/22 - Lauren Gentry (ILT) attends AMS STEM walk

• 12/8 - STEM afternoons begin with Gary Boulier

Spring 2020

• 1/6 - Caitlyn Berresford and Gary Boulier redeliver information from Cobb STEM academy sessions

• 2/27 - Mrs. Cole attends CMS STEM walk

• 3/5 - Caitlyn Berresford and Gary Boulier attend sessions for the Cobb STEM academy

• 3/11 - STEM meeting planning proposed May STEM walk

• 5/7 - Anticipated STEM walk - cancelled due to shutdown

• 5/14 - Administrators attend STEM Bartow: Moving Forward training via Teams

• 6/12 - STEM Teacher Champion Academy offered to Staff for SY21

Fall 2020

• Nichole Baines begins STEM Teacher Champion Academy

• Reconvene as Administrative team to discuss plans to continue STEM implementation.

• Enrichment opportunities begin with STEM-focused sessions (Robotics, Construction, Technology).

• Present STEM implementation plan for BCSS certification to all grade levels.

• 8th Grade announces desire to begin STEM implementation.

• Schedule first STEM walk for February 2021 and second for May 2021.

• Brainstorming meeting with 8th grade teachers to determine focus of February and May.

• STEM afternoons begin with Coach Boulier.

• 11/20/2020 - Coach Boatfield and Mrs. Bunce attend CMS walk-through (the first for their 8th grade team).

• 8th grade teachers schedule Teams discussion with Dr. Bob from GYSTC.

Spring 2021

• Dr. Bob comes to RTMS for face-to-face meeting and continued planning for February STEM walk.

• 8th grade teachers begin cross-curricular units focused around Rocketry.

• 2/1-2/4 - Construction Focus Group used Science standards and Math standards to engineer and construct launch pads to be used for Science launches.

• STEM walk #1 - February 12, 2021

• STEM Robotics Competition- Team wins 1^st place for "Core Values"

Fall 2021

• James Conaway joins the staff as our new STEM connections teacher and adds three competition STEM/Robotics teams to our school

• Reconvene as Administrative team to discuss progress of STEM implementation.

• Begin meeting as grade levels to prepare for upcoming STEM unit

• Creation of STEM sub-committee

• Bunce, Dickey, and Gentry attend district STEM training

• Enrichment opportunities begin with STEM-focused sessions (Robotics, Construction, Technology).

• STEM sub-committee meets to discuss creating an EDP and mission/vision for the school

• Grade level teams meet to work on logistics of their upcoming STEM unit

• STEM afternoons and STEM competition teams begin meeting

• Funding granted for multiple STEM competition teams

Spring 2022

• Be Pro, Be Proud truck visited RTMS to give our 8^th grade students hands-on experiences with STEM-related careers

• 1/28/2022- 6^th-8^th grade STEM Walk scheduled

• Grade level teams met to discuss feedback from January walk and prepare for the March walk

• Bunce and Gentry attended a STEM portfolio workshop sponsored by GaDOE

• STEM sub-committee met to work on preparations for STEM certification

• Staff members attended STEM walks at Adairsville Middle, Cass Middle, and Emerson Elementary

• Dickey, Bunce, and Gentry attended STEM Leadership training

• Dr. Bob met with 7^th grade to discuss overarching theme and unit plan for the March 25^th walk.

• Staff members attended STEM walk at Tapp Middle School

• 3/19/2022, Miners LEGO competed at GHC and was awarded 1^st Place Breakthrough Award

• Grade levels will conduct in house STEM walk
