Kathmandu

June 3 - 5, 2013

We all started gathering in Kathmandu on June 3. Everyone had different flights, so Chhiring made about 3 trips to the airport that day to get us. For the most part, things at the airport went smoothly, but it was super to have Chhiring waiting for us so we didn't get bombarded by the taxis, etc. out in the parking lot.

After getting to our beautiful hotel, The Hotel Annapurna, we went out to experience the town. Needless to say, it's always an adventure heading out on the streets!! Check out the wiring!! We were able to pick up some items needed for the trek in Thamel. You just need to get into the bartering mode. Chhiring also took us to a Japanese restaurant for dinner. The food was excellent.

On June 4, we all headed out to the Boudhanath Stupa. Check out the pictures. It was a very neat place.

After that excursion, Chhiring took us to his house for lunch. Here are some of the scenes from his house and also the surrounding houses. Our time in Kathmandu was nice, but I think we were all ready to get out and start the trek! Tomorrow - the big bus ride to the beginning of the trek!!
