Day 14

SimiGau to road to Gonggar 2036 meters - 1440 meters give or take

That's approximately 6679 ft. to about 4724 feet. We actually are a little higher since we didn't walk all the way to town.

Our last day and we are up very early and have our last breakfast on the trek! We left at 7:00 and got to the road at about 8:00. Boy, it sure was a lot easier going this direction! The busses arrived just about the same time as we did. One bus held all the porters and gear, and the other held the members and some of the Sherpas.

For the most part, the bus ride was pretty uneventful. While driving, for a very short time, we saw some beautiful high snowy mountains. Since there had been a lot of rain, we also saw places where road construction was in full swing, fixing areas the had a little washout, or were weakened because of the rain. We at lunch at the same place we had lunch on the way over. Once off the road that leads to the Rolwaling Valley, we stopped at a place to get some cold drinks. It was very hot and muggy on the trip back.

Once we got back to the hotel at around 7:00, everyone took showers, ate at the coffee shop and went to bed!
