Similar to the 3D modeling of a tensile test specimen, I designed a bending (flexural) sandwich test specimen in Autodesk Inventor according to ASTM C393 (Standard Test Method for Core Shear Properties of Sandwich Constructions by Beam Flexure).

This project’s objective was similar to the tensile test specimen modeling - design outer walls around the specimen and fabricate the assembly by rapid prototyping for creating molds and casting thermoset plastic materials.
