Rochester Institute of Technology–Exam Guidelines and Code of Conduct
Purpose and Scope This document outlines the official examination guidelines and code of conduct for all students, faculties/invigilators/administrative staffs at any given school. It ensures fairness, integrity, and consistency during all forms of assessments as per RIT’s expectations as an international credit evaluating institution.
GENERAL EXAM GUIDELINES
Exams are scheduled and communicated by the school to the students.
Students are required to be present at the exam venue at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Late arrivals exceeding 30 minutes may not be permitted to take the exam unless a valid emergency is proven.
Only approved exam materials by the school are allowed.
Personal electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, and tablets are not allowed in the examination premises. If carried, these must be turned off and stored away with the school authorities. Violation may lead to immediate disqualification from examination.
EXAM ROOM CONDUCT
Silence must be maintained throughout the duration of the exam.
Students may not leave the exam room within the first 30 minutes or the final 15 minutes of the examination.
Bathroom breaks are permitted with invigilator approval and only one student is allowed at a time.
Any suspicious activity will be monitored, and students may be relocated or debarred from taking the exam
COVID/Health Norms (if applicable): Masks, sanitizers, and social distancing must be followed as per the latest guidelines.
SPECIAL NEEDS
Disability Services
Students registered with the Disability Services Office may receive advantages such as extended time, alternate format exams, or separate testing environments.
Requests must be submitted at least 5 business days before the scheduled exam.
