Brewl was made as part of the DigiPen GAM 200 program. Our team, Team Alchemists Anonymous, was composed of seven people:
- 4 programmers
- 3 designers
Notably, we had no artists or sound designers on the team.
I was a game designer on the team from August of 2020 to April of 2021, when the class ended.
Brewl is a turn-based strategy game built in a custom engine made by our programmers on the team. We game designers used the engine to implement the game while the programmers continued to develop new features concurrently.
My duties on the team consisted of designing combat, the player's attacks, the monsters and their attacks, character art and animation, the background music, and playtesting.
